And if it goes toward getting a decent player WITHOUT having to player sell then I'll wear that sponsor across my shirt proudly, as they will be doing what a sponsor should do - contributing directly to the success of the team. Had carlsberg for ages probably the best sponsor we have had so far but with £ 80 million at stake we could go places in the transfer market if Rafa has a part of the money .....buy Silva next January? ...anyway thanks Carlsberg we've both benefited from our association over the years .

80 million for 4 years is a bloody good deal, I'll deal with a crap logo for cash like that.

I will be more than happy to live with the new sponsors but me being a bit of an old cynic, I simply cannot see Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum handing it over to Rafa......... I really do hope they prove me wrong!

I always thought they were a great sponsor, but now with their reluctance to up a good deal for the good of the football club has changed my thoughts. I really would like to see a full
list of the deals we have had with Carlsberg and then see how well they have treated us. Their refusal to budge on what has been a damn good deal for them (I only tried Carlsberg because of our deal!) leads me to believe they only have their interests at heart and thus maybe have ripped us a bit for a while. As I recall, Carlsberg were about to drop us just before we won the CL, but changed their minds after.

Was only about to introduce myself, and ask if any others had migrated here from the ShanklyGates forum. I'd been posting on there since 2001, so it's been a bit odd looking for a new home and new lads to banter with.

I'll get used to it!

Will miss Carlsberg on the front of our shirts, as they have been there for years, but never mind onwards and upwards. The new deal looks brilliant, if they give the cash to Rafa, or will the yanks use it to pay of their bank loans.
