      Sorry for the bump.

      When does the deal expire?.

Have we earned the Maximum from it? (Performance related).

      Will they renew?.

      Any ideas.

I think the last payment is next June/July Shabs, with the deal ending the following summer.  We haven't gained anything like the quoted amounts as the £20m was dependant on CL qualification which we haven't done since it started.  Think the minimum we would earn is £14m per season.

Not sure if we will renew or not, think it will depend on what happens in America with the financial investigations around the bank.  Our owners don't like bad publicity and to be sponsored by a bank accused of helping a "rogue nation" (Iran) launder it's oil money won't go down well.

So would could see a Shirt Sponsor also as our Stadium Sponsor too,i have a gut feeling thats the broad the club will head down like the Arsenal model.

I know the Qatari's are sniffing around looking for potential investments,Aston Villa have been mentioned by 1 or 2 who i know due to the expansion of Birmingham Airport where from Qatar Airlines will be flying from so they may snap up the club with a good history, support & Premier League.

Hope someone in the know is reading and makes contact with the Qataris.

No I don't mate.  Unless we actually move to Stanley Park.  They've always said that if we stay put there will be no naming partner, Anfield will remain Anfield.

I can't see us moving now as they've more or less given the go ahead for plans to be drawn up to redevelop, that costs money, something they don't like wasting.

Liverpool eager to secure a lucrative new shirt deal with Standard Chartered

Liverpool are in talks with banking firm Standard Chartered to extend and improve on a lucrative shirt sponsorship deal presently worth £20 million a year.

Less than two years into a four-year contract, the Merseyside club hope to swiftly conclude negotiations to secure the partnership beyond the end of 2014.

Under the present terms Standard Chartered has been granted a period of exclusivity enabling it the option of prolonging its relationship with Liverpool and the club are confident they can better the arrangement which began in 2010.

The £80 million over the course of four years was a club record at the time, but it was agreed in 2009 – a year before it came into effect – when Liverpool were second in the Premier League and still part of Europe’s elite competition. The global economic downturn and the club’s deteriorating on-pitch performance has made securing sponsorship even more challenging since then.

Commercial revenues at Anfield have increased in recent years despite Liverpool falling out of the top four, but the well-documented pursuit of a stadium sponsor was abandoned after the club were unable to raise funds to move to Stanley Park.

A lack of Champions League football would seem to make investment in Anfield less attractive, and last season the furore over Luis Suárez’s refusal to shake hands with Manchester United's Patrice Evra prompted a statement from Standard Chartered expressing “disappointment” and “concerned” about how the racism controversy was being handled.

However, that does not appear to have left any lasting damage and Liverpool are confident a healthy relationship will be extended.

Club executives are also believe the lack of Champions League football will not have an unduly negative impact on negotiations because Standard Chartered is based in Asia where the Premier League holds such sway.

The evening kick-offs in Europe do not attract such a large television audience in places such as Singapore and Thailand because of the differing time zones.

Standard Chartered can F**k off imo. With the statement over the Suarez issue, then them being found out for money laundering for Afghanistan or something I don't want the club to have anything to do with them.

I think there might be some naming rights involved in this negotiation. Could help us do some of the extensions.

Although, how would the fans feel about Anfield being the Standard Chartered home? mmmm....

      Looks like they're renegotiating:

      http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-04/liverpool-standard-chartered-begin-sponsorship-renewal-talks.html

Liverpool, Standard Chartered Begin Sponsorship Renewal Talks

Standard Chartered (STAN) Plc and 18-time English soccer champion Liverpool are in talks for the international bank to extend its agreement as the team’s principal sponsor.

London-based Standard Chartered, which makes most of its money in Asia, is negotiating with Liverpool even though the team has wrestled with problems on and off the field since the original four-year accord was reached in September 2009.

“We are engaged in ongoing conversations with Standard Chartered regarding extending the partnership and continually delivering excellent commercial and community value,” the team said in a statement confirming the discussions.

Liverpool yesterday announced a pretax loss of 40.5 million pounds ($61 million) for the 10 months ended May 31, 2012. It’s seventh in the Premier League after 28 games and is almost certain to miss out, for a fourth straight season, on participating in the lucrative Champions League. Success clauses in the agreement mean the Reds didn’t get a portion of the 20 million pounds Standard Chartered could pay annually.

Standard Chartered’s sponsorship of Liverpool is its only agreement with a major sports team. The bank, which also confirmed the discussions, said the “association with Liverpool FC has proved to be positive for the bank and we remain very pleased with the success of the partnership to date.”

The deal came into effect in 2010, the year the club was sold to Fenway Sports Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team. Banks forced through the sale after former owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks of the U.S. failed to refinance a 300 million-pound loan used to buy and operate the team.

Not a lot of info and no quote of a source so might be a load of bull - pain around the "success rate" clause and not getting the full 20Mill (anyone know if that's the way the contract would have been set up?)

Almost certainly European football and CL football was a major clause of that £20M.  And I would imagine it is quite significant the amount they don't have to pay due to failure to be in the CL.
And when you look at the change in our commercial

Think it was reduced to £14m per year without CL then went up in increments depending on how far we got if we qualified.

Uniteds is a sh*t deal mate, they've given up their rights to shirt sales for an extra few quid up front.  We did the opposite so we get all profits from every shirt sold.
