They wouldn't pay £20m a year just to display a logo...they wish to popularise their brand name as well..While, I am not sure how significant is this, but we are the only top our club to be sponsored by a British company...in fact the only top 6 or 8 club I think to be sponsored by an English corporation.

Thanks for the visual Res (gave u a + ), at least we now know roughly what it will look like. Nothing against your artwork but I'm not too impressed with either, but we'll take the 80 million quid. 

It shouldn't really matter who sponsors us, Carlsberg schmarlsberg! This is an awesome deal that is great for our financial future.It befits our status.
Deep down I believe the 2 cockwarts will sell the club down the track, so we'll have to take it on the chin for a while longer. The only way is up, as it can't get any worse.

I know they probably wouldn't go for a logo only design, was just wondering out of a hypothetical as I thought with the text it looked to busy.

Well that's a good deal! About time that we are on par with the Mancs when it comes to the comercial side of the game. Nice deal. But are we supposed to credit those 2 American tossers for this?

It doesn't look that good on our shirts does it and what's even more worrying is that they're logo colour is actually blue and if I was coughing up the sort of money reported I'd want the logo exact. Presuming they're our next sponsor of course.

80 million does sound good, but we won't be seeing a penny of it, because it's all going straight to the banks.

Also, doesn't look amazing on the shirt, but i'd rather have a bad looking sponsor on the shirt and more money than a great sponsor with no money.

Far better deal for the club. Carlsbergs 7M a year, or StanChart's 20M.

The only sad thing is that we are wanking £30M a year away in interest under the Yanks.

Maybe it's time for StanChart to redo their logo design and relaunch with a jazzed up logo and being splashed all over our kits.

Cracking deal, if you gotta give the yanks one thing they've really improved our commercial side of things. Still shitehawks though, as we all know we will see hardly any of this money.

It doesn't look brilliant but 20M a year is impressive.  I would be amazed if Rafa got to see a penny of it though.

The deal doesn't excite me at all the reason being that not £1 pound of it will go to Rafa transfer budget, it will probably be used every year to meet our ever growing interest repayments. Sure we got £15 million for the Middle east tour where did that money go. Wouldn't trust them with money be interesting to see how much expenses they claim this year.

this should surely be the start of the changes in our fortunes both on and off the pitch £20m a year by anyones standards is a good deal !
The possible government ban on Alcohol advertising could lead to us losing out on advertising revenue if we Renewed the Carslberg deal and although it would appear strange to see the lads running about with a different sponser on there tops I've realised that whilst we've been sponsored by Carlsberg (17yrs) we've not won the League or for that matter the amount of trophies we would have liked is it more than coincidence that Alcohol and sporting success don't mix !

And out of the £20 million ho wmuch will Rafa see and how much will they steal from the club.

I may be wrong here but I believe whatever monies we get from this deal has to be used within the structure of the club, whether its for transfers or reduction of any debt or loans we may have obviously if it were for transfers all the better but even if it'd used for reducing and debt or interest payment then thats surely not a bad thing ?

We've had a good relationship with Carlsberg over the years but I guess now is the time to move on. The government are cracking down on Alcohol advertising, and we can't even wear the Carlsberg logo in some countries. Bank sponsorships seem to be the most marketable choice in this day and age.

Not overly bothered what it looks like considering how much more money we will be making.

Companies change their logo's anyway.
