New Liverpool sponsor - 20M a year Standard Chartered deal (2009)

Im sure the logo wont stay blueand green. 20M a year is a good deal and there might be certain terms withinthe contract that means we see more money from Standard Chartered. Does anyone else think that we could put the prices of shirts up in countries were we couldnt have the Carlsberg logo? It would mean a lot more revenue for the club.

Anyway this is all hearsay because we dont know that its a done deal yet.   

Many tabloids are reporting it as done, as are quite a few LFC sites.

I'd say it's 99% certain.

Not really fussed who it is on the shirt, I am sure it will grow on us.

IMO i don't think the mock up that Res through up with Steven and the SC logo on it was all too bad. Not the best but it will grow on some.

at least these yanks did something quite good for our beloved club
hope that we will be able to step up in the transfert markets instead of buying a bunch of average players

I, for one, am not going to shed a tear when we change sponsor.

All this business about Carlsberg looking nice on the shirt means aboslutely jack sh*t if they aren't prepared to pay a competitive amount. We've been playing catch up in the advertising and sponsor deals with the other top clubs for far too long, this is a step in the right direction, late though it may be.

Another thought for all those a little nostalgic: that logo is going to look a hell of a lot sweeter if it's the one on Gerrard's shirt when he's lifting the Premiership trophy.

when do we get to see the actual design on the shirt? not before this season ends right? because carlsberg deal ends in mid-2010.

Just seen on BBC website the news.  Shirts will have the new logo from July 2010.  so the launch date for the new 2010-2012 shirt is no longer a secret!  20 million a year is fantastic news.  as much as we hate the corporate side of the game, we desperately need it in order to compete and our brand has been massively undersold for years.  Moores and Parry were terrible in this area.

Must admit, will seem strange not having Carlsberg on the shirt, but let's be honest, i have a 6year old son, and having a huge logo advertising Lager on a childs top isn't really the done thing.

The money is nice,and im sure we will get used to the logo and twenty million will surely make it easier to digest.Will Rafa get this money though?,i really hope so.

Sounds like a great deal, lets hope some of this will be filtered through to Rafa.

Will look strange for a while but dont really care who's name the shirt carries if it helps the clubs finances.

Glad its a done deal was the first piece of news i read this morning after waking up. Im not gunna echo what everyone else is saying instead im gunna sit back and wait for the transfer window to see if rafa has more cash to spemd as its the only way we'll find out.
