That's lowered a fair bit.  BT are a rip off with some of their prices compaired to what other comapanies can offer you.

      What!

How are you getting that? Who you with or is this a 'work' thing?

To update - I am cancelling my BT and going with Be Broadband.  If I go missing at any stage in the next couple of weeks - you know it wiill not have gone smoothly.

Update on my broadband - after 10 years with BT I am finally leaving them.

Interestingly if any of you fancy saving yourselves a bit of money and are on BT - when I rang up to get my MAC code to move to another supplier they asked me why I was leaving. I said 'Performance Issues' ;) and anyway they offered me 6 months free broadband to stay with them.  At £25 a month that is £150.

So, my message to you if you have BT - give them a ring - ask for your MAC code and then let them give you £150 worth of free broadband.

      Me?

I told them to do one. 24 Meg Broadband is on it's way (in 1-3 weeks)

More information on joining Be Broadband is here

Well supposed to be tomorrow for my new Broadband.  All the routers etc are in the depot in Liverpool so will no doubt get delivered while I am at work tomorrow!  When I get home tomorrow it should all be done and I'll (hopefully) be testing my super duper fast broadband.

Good luck. Hope it'll all go smoothly. If you'll be happy with it after a few months I reckon I might switch myself.

Box arrived as expected yesterday - apparently today is the activation date so I will see how it's getting on when I get home.

      All smooth so far!

Come back from work and it's all been upgraded at the exchange etc.  For some reason the Speed Test site isn't working so not able to post my new stats yet but my old DSL line used to connect at around 6.8 MB and this one has synced at 17 MB so if that's anything to go by.

      I am happy.

I know it is day 0 but from when I ordered about 10 days ago - the transfer from BT to Be has been as smooth as a baby's backside. (touch wood)

Don't get BT. A prime example of them throttling their connections. Robbing bas**rds.

Not too good.  Still not swapped my Broadband.

      Goodbye and Goodnight BT....

And a much better ping - will be useful for those PS3 FIFA tournaments online.

      Big up for Be Broadband

So I have just upgraded with AOL and got them to give me 3 month's free and a reduced price of £9.99 for the rest of my new contract and they have said I can expect speeds of around 3 - 3.5 meg on me BT line and I just done a test.

Seems to show an improvement on the 1 meg I used to get ;)
