      Midfielder linked with Reds move

Liverpool are being linked with a surprise move for Bolton midfielder Matt Taylor as he continues to shine at the Reebok.

Taylor was a revelation last season when notching 10 goals from midfield and has again impressed in this campaign with three strikes and a host of assists from the left flank.

There have even been suggestions that Taylor could be an outside bet for the World Cup with England next summer and his form has not gone unnoticed at Anfield as Rafa Benitez has now been linked.

Like all the top clubs, Liverpool could be affected by the new law that is set to be introduced that will mean they have to play a certain amount of English players in the Champions League.

Taylor therefore could be an attractive option although he has just penned a new deal and would cost big money.

Could this be true? Or just media talking bull once more?

I do hope this is true, it gives us more options.

Has a foot to rival Riise's. I'd be happy with that if the price was right.

I'd be fine with him at the right price. Scores goals, has a sweet foot. Something to keep an eye on, if its something legit.

Left Flank eh? If it has got some worth, then might be a decent pick up. 10 strikes from the left flank is the type of thing we need. Could well be a load of media bullshit though, as there aint one source or quote there actually seriously showing a link. I would like to see something more concrete.

He's been important for them so they'd hold him for squillions.

Would be an awful signing we should be planning to sign sign players that can make a difference not signing journeymen, for f'ck sake we are Liverpool not Bolton.

I tell you if we are going to be signing players of this calibre we will be waiting another 20 years to win a title.

Chips in with vital goals and regular assists, lethal from the dead ball situations. Could be had for under 5m would take him and I wager he would be willing to come too.

I think he'd be a decent player for us off the bench. Scores pretty nice goals and puts a dangerous ball in. Would rather see a lad like this come off the bench than Ryan Babel.
However, I wouldn't pay too much for him.

Was in and out of the team at Portsmouth team, has done okay at Bolton but that is all, will never get capped for England as he is simply not good enough.

If he was linked to Chelsea Utd Arsenal or City there fans would be outraged but for some reason fans of our club think he is good enough for us. Come on Matt Taylor is a journeyman of course he would come to us if he had the chance so would any average journeymen players.

Waste millions on Taylor when it could go toward signing Mata or Silva? Doesn't make sense, however good a squad player he is (which admittedly he would be for us). If we don't have much in the way of a transfer budget we can't afford to be spending it on squad players when the first team still needs improving.

The problem is that we dont have the funds to buy top quality players so I would rather we sign some proven players who can back up what we have. Spurs havent done so badly in picking up these so called journeymen. Their match day squad not 1st team is currently a lot stronger than ours.

Spurs wouldn't even go for this lad but if Liverpool fans think he is good enough for us now it is a sad state of affairs. A very average player who is at best a Bolton player.

While I'm not Riera biggest fan he has being capped approx 15 times for Spain I'll bet anyone here that Taylor never gets capped by England or even gets in a squad. I'd prefer to sign no one then wasting a couple of million on him.
