Evening Reds, hope all is well. As I have decided to take a self-imposed exile from alcohol for a little while (not too long) I am beginning to remember some of the things I most enjoy in life. I must admit, I have been neglecting the forum over the last few months, making little appearances every few weeks, coming on for 2-3 minutes at a time (mostly due to the annoying transfer tattle). Well, all I can say is I have made a new season resolution and that is to visit a little more often and make a valuable contribution once again. Sitting here with a brew and reading up on comments made over the last few weeks. Good to be back guys, can't wait for Sunday and the upcoming season. Believe!

Sitting in Dublin airport waiting for my flight at half 6. My aul fella turns the big 50 on Monday. Hope the team can put in a good shift for him and grab all 3 points.

What's also got me thinking is how people can start drinking alcohol at this time of the morning. I'm Irish and love a good drink every now and then but starting at 4 in the morning?

Happy birthday to your arl fella mate, let the Guinness flow.
Same as with the drinking at mad hours at the airport, like a pint of Guinness meslf but how can you enjoy your pint at that godawful time of day?
Why stop at a Guinness why not go the whole way with the brandy chaser and a sing song in the airport lounge?
It's one of them time and a place things and there was never a better example than people necking ale at that time of the morning with babies screaming, mothers getting hysterical and kids running amok, to say nothing about the piss they serve you and the outrageous prices charged for the piss.

Go to bed earlier? Or you're working too many hours?

Taping up my beleaguered feet ahead of a 15km training run. Big 18km charity run next week which - on reflection - coming 17 days after 3 weeks enjoying the "beauty" of Tenerife  :food-smiley-005: was perhaps a little ambitious!

Doesn't work like that with me. Always sleep when I am really really really tired.

So always end up sleeping late like 2 or 3.

I feel you mate. I'm strange with sleep too. Just cannot sleep in the day. Take yesterday for instance, bed after 4am then up about 8am. Absolutely shattered on the couch all day but something just stops me from nodding off.

On reflection, in the future, I might just read this post that I'm writing.

      Bored myself there :D

      :D

I find when not gyming I am the same. But if I haven't had enough sleep during a gym day I nap in the day.

But after work I feel like if I sleep early ill have wasted my day and just don't fall asleep till its too late.
