We deserve to be out we were awful in this years Champions league, Insua Kuyt Lucas and Aureilo performances tonight were simply woeful.

Aquilani was only brought on to run the clock down. Some bizarre subs tonight though. Does it help the mentality of the squad if we're negative in our subs when we've got a slim lead? Who knows.
F***ing made up with the win though. Heartbreaking that it was too little, too late.

Regardless of the quality of the team Debrecen is, the positives are that we were finally able to grind out a victory. We held the lead for 86 minutes, and did not give up the lead. It would've been nice to score a few more and for Lyon to do us a favor, but the way things are going, we must be grateful for any positives. We've kept a clean sheet (thank you Pepe) and we're back on the winning track. Hopefully, we'll carry the momentum into Sunday...

Wrong thread mate as this is the match thread not the Rafa bashing or kneejerk thread!! But seen as though you mentioned it answer my questions below!! What on earth on you on about? How is missed chances, mistakes by individual players, injuries and the odd bit of good play by the opposition Rafa's fault? So we might not always agree with his substitutions but who else would do a better job? |
