YANK$ OUT!

« on: March 12, 2010, 11:45:01 PM »

Im actually looking forward to this game, I think they'll bring the game to us and we'll do likewise... I expect quite a few goals in this match to say the least  Wink  Grin

Anywhos I'l start off with this:

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/benitez-striker-is-nearly-there

Rafa Benitez believes there were signs against Lille that Fernando Torres could soon be back at his deadly best.

The Spain international has started three consecutive games for the Reds since returning from a knee injury which kept him out for six weeks.

His performance was one of several positives Benitez took from the 1-0 Europa League defeat in Lille on Thursday.

He said: "There were signs Torres is coming back. He was working hard today and maybe his pace is coming back.

"There were still a lot of positives. The main thing for me was the team, but there were some individuals that were playing at the level that is expected of them."

You all looking forward to this one?  Roll Eyes

We'll smash them.

I still believe we're gonna give someone a hiding. Sooner or later, we'll get that early goal, then another one and that'll be it. 4 or 5 goals from the reds.

Haha! I was just about to go search on the TV. Cheers mate.

Got an exam so I'll miss the start of that, will record it instead and watch later. Hopefully not with the same disappointing ending to my day as last Monday Sad

It's just like Ross getting laid, it's got to happen sooner or later Wink

I'm going to go for a 3-0 win. Got a feeling Nando is going to rip them apart and get a hat trick.

I would love to be as positive but I cannot. I feel Portsmouth, even with their troubles, will show more passion than our players will. I think we'll sneak something here. We haven't rocked up to the lesser games all season and I don't see why we will now.

(Dear God, I have praised the side all season heading into a match and we have lost. I am changing my angle and will spout sh*t unless we win. Do it, God!)

If the fans turn up (which they tend not to) then the players will turn up (which they tend not to).

Hasn't Darby just gone out on loan to Swindon Brian?

I'm expecting a win, but by the narrowest of margins. That'll still do like, just as long as we do get the win.

Hopefully we'll be putting pressure on Villa to get a result from the JJB on tuesday night.

Has he Ally? Didnt know that. Well Id be tempted to bring Mavinga or someone in at left back then with Kelly to right back and Danny back in at centre half. Insua needs dropping either way

this will likely be another of those we should beat the hell out of them but they are going through a worse time than us and therefore are able to raise their game to beat the mighty reds to give them a good deal of confidence to see out the season on a high. oh and its a monday night game and we are a little allergic to them it seems.

but on the bright side surely things cant get much worse even if we tried to make it worse on purpose

Torres and Stevie G true legends

« Reply #17 on: March 13, 2010, 02:41:03 AM »

surely lucas has earned a deserved place on the bench, gerrard in lucas position, maxi on the right, congragulations kuyt you I think also have won yourself a place on the bench, riera on the left, its a risk but he can create one piece of magic over 90 mins. I would put Babel behind Torres, they had a couple of nice link-ups against Lille, there pace is a key factor we have been missing. and anybody and I mean anybody can play left back so as to strengthen our defence(even me).

Can't argue with that, It's been the same all season, I'm guessin we'll either scrape a win or get a bad result, sorry to be so pessimistic but that's what I expect after this season's performances, mayaswell be realistic.

I'm always thinking this will be the result that turns things round but it never happens, fairplay to those who are still enthusiastic!

ATTACK, ATTACK............... ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been a while since ive got to shout that at Anfield, maybe Rafa will just go for it with 2 up front and 2 attacking wide men.

On second thoughts we should prob just go with a back 4 and two defensive midfielders just in case Portsmouth come over the half way line.   f_tongueincheek

It's hard to be overly confident for this one, every time we have a match which looks like a banker, we lose or draw.

I hope the players go at it from the start, and get a big moral boosting win.

If we can't beat Portsmouth at Anfield then the trip to Old Trafford will be a bad one.

« Reply #26 on: March 13, 2010, 07:35:24 AM »

We will give them a hiding, if we keep Torres involved.

We need our midfield to get the ball, look up and move it on quickly, none of this dallying about on the ball that we've seen in recent games. Get Torres on the ball, because even when he's not fully fit, he can tear any team in the world apart.

If we play like this:
                         Reina
Johnson      Sotis         Agger       Aurelio
Maxi         Masch         Aquilani     Benayoun
                   Gerrard
                           Torres

And put Pacheco on at some point, we'll f**king dick on them.

Nothing but a win.

I would play Babel for this, as already mentioned he linked up well with Nando on a couple of occasions in the week so why not play him just behind with (if no Yossi) Maxi and Reira on the wings.

Lets have a real go at these from the start (how many times have I posted this pre-match), but sooner or later surely we've got to give someone a hiding........haven't we??? Shocked

By the way....I'm having trouble attending this due to work commitments so if anybodies interested in two tickets together in the Main Stand, please PM me.
