Another idea Rodgers stole from me:

With Sturridge now out and Balotelli looking toothless, I think the time has come to try Sterling as a striker through the middle.  Front three of him, Lallana and Coutinho either side of him.  Much more pace and movement than Balotelli/Lambert/Borini etc.

Play him upfront so he learns to score goals then when Sturridge is fit Ballotelli is back to doing what he can do drop him out wide again as that's his best position and watch him score because he'd have learnt a few things about goal getting!!!

Great performance, wish he'd have got some rest though. We'll need a performance like that against Arsenal.

4 days in between last nights match and Arsenal, don't think it's that much of a problem. I'm sure he will put in a stellar performance as long as he has the back up that he did in attack last night. The last thing we need to do is leave him alone up front against Arsenal, that's when he will get worn out chasing thin air.

One in the eye for John Henry's press smears claiming Raheem is being greedy.

Sadly Raheem has no top quality elsehwere in the sqaud to learn off at the moment. Its interesting how some of his game is Suarez like in some ways.

I cant get really pleased over the award, I feel like he's already got 1 arm in a Madrid/Milan/Man City shirt.
Such is the way when you change from being a football club to a "storied sports venture".

Just had a look quick Google, nothing official.

Did agree with Gary Neville, who said he shouldn't be charged, since at least the linesman was watching the incident from just a couple of feet away and didn't flag.

The match officials saw, and chose not to take action, which is different from when they state they saw nothing, and the FA takes retrospective action (I hope).

What are you going on about? Do you ever actually backup anything you say with facts or do you just go about making ludicrous claims thinking people will just take you at your word?

Thought the same - lets hope nothing happens...

No further action for Sterling's push/puch yesterday.

Quite fortunately as I've seen some punished for less.

      Shelvey charged with violent conduct.

Sterling escapes punishment as it was seen as the issue has been dealt with by the assistant ref.

"No FA charge for Raheem Sterling. Raised arm spotted by officials and considered 'dealt with'"

      7:20 PM 30 Dec 2014

Though Sterling's conduct was inexcusable, it was actually a reaction to Federico's smack to the back of his head which the assistant ref tried to stop before sterling's reaction.

I feel for Raheem at the moment. He's not a striker, he's just doing what he's being asked to do. But he's nowhere near a natural goalscorer and he's been found out now. He's still a great foil for Countinho and Lallana when it works but you can see how frustrated he is becoming.

There is so much riding on Sturridges return to this team.

Neymar 11 and Suarez 16? Yea right.

Sterling doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that top 10. He's got loads of "potential" but he's not a proven superstar like the rest of those in the top 10 of that list. I call foul.
