Does anyone remember that documentary when Brendan tore a strip off Sterling?

Aye. Mentioned it last week RP.

I think Brendan saw a talent that needed a firm hand and direction.

Remember that documentary well, Raheem certainly moved in the right direction since then. Well done for his performance today certainly a most valuable member of the side who seems to have shown a maturity on the field way beyond his age.

Didn't really expect to see too much of Sterling this season when we loaned Moses, especially with Coutinho sparkling for us... thankfully Sterling has blossomed and if anything has even slightly overtaken Coutinho in precedence at the moment.

Developed into a top top player... just needs to keep it up now.

Just hope he's not going to get burned out.  Pretty much guaranteed to go to the World Cup now, possibly even a starter.  So he won't have too much rest this summer.  Then we'll be in four competitions next season.  Hope the backroom staff are all working on a plan to make sure he doesn't get too overloaded.

The manager copped much flak at the time for the whole incident as I remember from fans of various persuasions and loyalties. It seems that whatever he did however has reaped huge rewards, Sterling is developing into an absolutely wonderful little player.

The lad seems almost surprised at what he can do and what is happening to him at the moment.  His development in harnessing the raw talent and making him so much more of an all round player is stunning.

Brendan has clearly got into Raheem's head and the lad seems so different than just 6 months ago.Whatever Brendan has done with him it has worked wonders for the lad and lets not forget that is what he is just a lad.

I think Brendan is the perfect manager for Sterling and he will keep him grounded.
But if I where Sterling I would be asking why Joe Cole can sit on his arse for £100k a week.

      Expanding on Luke's earlier comment:

'Sterling's the best teen in Europe'
Brendan Rodgers thinks Raheem Sterling deserves to win the Young Player Of The Year award after the winger's 2 goals helped Liverpool record their 11th PL win in a row against Norwich.
Sterling opened the scoring with a superb 25 yard strike before his second put the 2-3 win out of reach, he also got the assist for Luis Suarez' 30th of the season and BR thinks he deserves the accolade more than any other player.
''I think he is arguably the best young player in Europe at the moment, at 19 years of age if he doesn't win it it's ridiculous''.

Electric this season, from the left, to the right and centrally what a delight he has been.

Can see him notching a couple more goals next season as well, be great to see him hit 15 personally think he is capable of it.

Since the turn of the year he has been the best player we've had undoubtedly. Incredible. I tend to believe (ever so slightly) that Suarez and Sturridge rank above him (just) for the season as a whole considering their influence at the start of the season but in terms of impact on the squad this guy's form is a big part of why we finished second with 101 goals to boot. He really was at the heart of our 11 game winning streak. The lurid accusations that he was another Wright Phillips or Lennon after a tough start to the season were just appalling for such a young guy with such obvious talent. I struggle to think of a better youngster in Europe at the moment and as I said a few weeks ago he can go on to become one of the three best players in the world. He should be applauded for getting himself to this level so quickly, with great gratitude given to Brendan as well who has worked hard with him.

Who knows what he can achieve at Liverpool while he continues to be guided by Brendan?

The biggest improvement to his game, and I think similar can be said for Coutinho, is his tenacity and strength.  Although it's been a joy to watch their attacking play, their defensive game has come on leaps and bounds and I can only see both getting better.
