Outstanding result that for Napoli and Benitez. Wolfsburg did look like the major stumbling block to Napoli winning it so they have a great chance now.

I'd be worried if he went to West Ham or Newcastle Debs so worrying about him at City is a given. ;D

I reckon so too mate. They'll see him as a winner from the off, whereas cities lot would probably heckle him like the chavs did.  We really don't need another rival coming to the fore though, it's tough enough competing with the existing 6.

Rafa without money is scary mate but for the rebuild they need and the money they'll have available to do it they could do far worse.  By all accounts they're (Soriano and Txiki) desperate for Pep but that won't happen till 2016 at the earliest so hopefully Rafa won't be an option unless they change tack and sack Pellers anyway.

Peps reputation in the champs league has taken a bit of a hit Debs smashed last year by Real and now they in big trouble against Porto ,he would still be courted by the big clubs should he come available though .

There's going to be a few managerial dilemmas this summer for some big clubs but we could do with City messing it up, expecially if they fall out of the CL.  The last thing we need is them getting Rafa.

Mourinho and Ancellotti both won the league at Chelsea in their first year, Mancini won it at Citeh, Pellegrini too in his first year.

Look in the other leagues, conte won it several times running at juventus and he's doing nothing now with the national team. Allegri finished behind Rafa last year with milan, and in fact did nothing there. Now he's walking the league with juventus. Guardiola, Villanova, Enrique with Barcelona, in the last few seasons.

If Rafa went to citeh and they let him shape the team, he will walk it in the league.

Disagree Stuey, City have a true long-standing support that followed them everywhere when they were relegated that is being sadly eroded away by the Johnny-come-lately's.

      Like what's happened at Anfield.

Exactly the ''fans'' referred to mate, the instant variety at Chelski, Citeh and Old Twatford.
Money has as you say eroded the credibility of the support base.
Money is the cause of the Anfield support decay, not the billions poured into it but the unscrupulous quest to make the club a money model.

@timbolton1: Rafa Benitez has reached seven major European semi finals in 12 years with four different clubs. Ridiculous record.

      Not bad.

He's excellent and his teams play good football. I mean people hold Guardiola up as the metric for good football but Barcelona was a 20 yer plan and Bayern Munich are a financially doped super squad. Getting results without financially doping is the game and Rafa is king. He may not finish 3rd in Italy but Napoli will probably still be in the CL and Rafa would have planned for that.
