Hello to the tech guys and girls I have a link to something on my fb page

Linking from Facebook only works for public posts ie. with the globe next to them.  You get the link by right clicking (or holding your finger down on) the time of the post eg. 1h ago.

It has to be a public post for us to be able to see it.

Can't take anymore of her pretending she gives a sh*t about LFC.

Only Corbs would start following her on the presumption she ever gave a sh*t in the first place. ;D

The weather's actually been pretty decent in September, well it was until this week anyway.

Anyway, we watched the Olympics.  We know it rains in Brazil!  Turns pools green and everything it's that bad over there! ;)

You didn't arrive in the best of weeks :D. It's been the same here in Manchester.

How have you settled in so far?

It's been fine so far, classes are good but ideally I should have arrived at least a week before, so I could look for apartments without having to attend classes. As it is now, I don't want to miss anything of my course so I've been left with little time to look for places.

I did find one decent place for an apparently decent price right in the city centre, but I'm struggling with payment methods. They want me to pay online but I don't have a credit card with the amount required, and I'm still not able to open a bank account here. I have part of the sum in cash which they don't want. It sucks.

I'm almost asking for a colleague in the course here to pay with his debit card and I'll give him the cash, but I don't want to ask someone I've just met this... well at least not yet. Let's see if I can find a solution tomorrow!

One thing I'm a bit worried is that the studio I found is in Stanley Street, which is quite busy and apparently noisy at night. The room is in the 4th floor and has double gazing, but it still worries me a little...

If you're doing the course at one of the universities, is there any way of being able to talk to a tutor or somebody there and see if they can help in some way?

That's one of the problems with city centre living I guess. I bet there's numerous bars/nightclubs etc. right near you and there will be a ton of rowdy students.

Glad you managed to make it over here OK.
