Want to re-read the Hobbit and all three LOTRs before the first Hobbit film comes out in 2011. Love the books. Probably my favourites.

^^^ Long story, short - Frodo does it!  ;D

I'm reading "I Am Ozzy" at the mo' - not exactly War And Peace but interesting none the less.

I've only read Economics stuff recently (mainly Brazilian economy, so I don't think it would of any interest to anyone here), but I've got a few Nick Hornby books on my wish-list to Christmas cause Fever Pitch is probably my favourite book of all time. Shame he's an Arsenal fan, not Liverpool, but still, it shows exactly how I feel about the game.

" The German Generals Speak" by B.H. Lidell Hart.

Fantastic book for anyone Interested in WW2.  Gives a good Insight into the German Army's decisions, what the Generals "really" thought about Hitler,Himmler,Bormann and the Nazi brass.

Amazing how close we actually came to losing the war. It was a combination of 3-4 "orders" which lost the war for the Germans. Fascinating read.

^^^ Sounds like a great read YANK, will try to get around to it sometime.

Reading 'I, Mick Gatto', autobiography about an underworld figure in Melbourne, with big connections in the gangland wars there in the last 15 years. Already enthralled, reading the words from his mouth is quite chilling. This is a man who shot and killed, in self defense, probably the most dangerous hitman ever in Australia. Great read so far.

Got Torres autobiography for Xmas, it's a bit short, and not based in chronological order. It's a good read, but I think if your not a Liverpool fan you wouldn't really be that interested in it.

Still I'm half-way through after only a day, so it's doing something right!!

I'd avoid if possible, made some very nasty comments towards Liverpool fans regarding Hillsborough.

In terms of Liverpool and football - 44 Years With The Same Bird is a fantastic read. But may I also recommend Capello: Portrait of a Winner - an excellent biography by Gabriel Marcotti portraying Capello's playing days and his management career (although these days he should stay away from football phone in 606). Shamlessly I have not read a novel in years - I really have to again and I'll probably buy one this weekend!

Problem with Clough was that he became a parody of himself in his later years. No offence but he was rather pathetic in the end getting the club he is hailed at, Nottingham Foret relegated and all. Sad decline of a man who was still stuck in the 1970s.

Know exactly what you mean, alcoholism, being found in a ditch pissed!

I remember some of the stuff from his book being published in the Sunday Mirror and the pain it caused some of our fans who lost loved ones at Hillsborough, pretty much had a distaste for the man after that.
