I think Pacheco's playing in the second striker role, whereas Suso stays a bit deeper in midfield to stroke it around like Alonso or Fabregas.

The official site called him a 'Striker'. That makes things a bit more interesting, I really don't know where he really fits in, and the way he plays in midfield is really unconventional!

He's a midfielder. Never been a striker. Cadiz' president said he was a magical midfielder when we signed him so i don't know why the offal say striker.

Ya, he started as a left winger when he arrived? More of a midfielder ala Fabregas and Alonso. When I saw him play, he was still only 16 at the time but he played behind the striker that day but still came deep and sprated it around.

I don't like the comparisons to Alonso. Much more like Fabregas. He has great dribbling abilities, wonderful passing range, a cracker of a shot and can make runs all over the field. Alonso was much more of that deep lying playmaker type, which by the way, Suso can do too. But I wouldn't limit him to that.

Said it before and I'll say it again, his passing is Alonsoesque.

Suso's manager at his previous club,Cadiz, said Suso was somewhere between Alonso and Riera. Made at a time when Riera had a good season with us behind him

... Is it just me that's sick of these 16 year old prodigies. I mean they don't often live up to the hype.

This lad is different mags, if he doesn't have any serious injuries or let it go to his head. He is the real deal. I think he is the best prospect we have had since Gerrard.

Agree with that. Seen him for the reserves this season on a number of occasions and I can't help but be excited about the prospect of him making the step up.

Has a fantastic ability to bring the wingers into a game. Always has an eye on the runners and is ready to ding a ball to them straight away... Who does that remind you off... :)

The talent is there already for him to be part of the first team, he just needs to build his strength up.

Definitely has the quality. Links up lovely with Pacheco and Ince when they are in the Reserves. Would love to have seen a team like this in a cup run... before Ince went on loan.

                  Torres

      Ince       Dani       Maxi

            Suso     Gerrard

That team is good everywhere except left mid... Andre Wisdom? isn't he a centre back?

Meant to post regarding that too. Wisdom is a beast, but at centre back mate.
Sterling or Silva should be on the right, with Ince on the left

Suso is a magnificent talent. This time next season he will already be trying to shove his way into the first team.

So where's his best position? Behind the striker, centre mid, wing? He looks a little small for a Premiership centre midfielder but then again so does Jack Wilshere.

For me it's centre mid. The ability to carry the ball forward, pass, etc. He needs to be paired with someone willing to do the dirty work obviously.

The more I see Suso, the more I fall in love. The thing about prodigious young talents, to me, is that most often what is getting them by is superior physical skills for their age group. It's relatively easy for a superior dribbler to dominate youth leagues and be great at his age group, but once he makes the step up to facing quality defenders, he often loses his way and the world catches up.

The one thing that this lad has that pretty much no players have when they are 16 (F***ing 16!) is his vision and ability to pick a pass. That doesn't go away, it only improves. He's not beating players with superior dribbling or physicality, which may not translate as his competition improves. Passing like his always translates, and if our team gets back to playing good football, this lad will be a big part of it. He would have done great for Rafa I think, and unless Woy starts playing a different style, he will have to wait to do great for another gaffer.
