Roy doesn't have the mind to manage a squad with our history and ambition. He's a great manager at getting sides to stay in games, but clearly he doesn't know how to get a side to go out and grab it by the throat. Sad to see what we've become.

We're heavily struggling against teams we should be beating comfortably.

It's not that he can't see it. It's that he's too scared to go for it because he thinks a draw is a good result in Europe, regardless if your playing Barcelona, Chelsea, or Debrecen.

I agree with the first part mate but playing Torres on his own just aint happening, everything is thru the middle, passed from side to side and not forward, if you play two on the flanks backed by fullbacks then we create problems for their defence and supply a better service to nando, we become stronger across the middle and if we can stick Ngog on to partner Nando we would deffo win, what do you think of that?

I think if you're going to play 2 up front, you don't play two number 9s.  N'Gog is just another Torres but of lesser quality.  Neither compliments each other's game, Kuyt up front would make more sense or even Pacheco dropping off Torres.  Again I don't see how a 4 man midfield would supply 2 strikers any better than a 5 man midfield would supply 1 striker.  The problem isn't in sheer numbers, it's to do with gameplan and positioning.  No amount of moving players around will fix our Torres supply issue if players are continually encouraged to do their own thing.

It's no secret we're not getting any money to fix our flanks, no point in trying to with central players.  The problem with our passing is we've gone from a two distinct lines of midfielders (2 defensive and 3 attacking) to one line (4 midfielders being played too flat and deep) as a result Cole is expected to be the linkup between midfield and Torres instead of actually being part of the midfield.

Full time. Awful. Just absolutely awful.

Our midfield has been really poor. Failed to dictate play or create any chances.
In particular, Meireles, Cole and Poulson have been particularly disappointing. (I won’t even mention Lucas as you know what to expect).
 As to how much of that is due to the mangers tactics, (or lack of tactical ability), remains to be seen.

As to f***in why we let Aquilani go is beyond me.
