Liverpool receives two new bids

Liverpool's board met on Tuesday after it received two new bids to buy the club, BBC Sport understands.

It is thought one of the bids is from Asia, with the other from America.

A source close to the negotiations said: "Both would significantly reduce the debt and give the current owners their original investment back."

But the club's co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are understood to be opposing the sale of the Reds to either of the two parties.

Liverpool were put up for sale by American duo Hicks and Gillett in April with debts of £351.4m.

Think the asian one has a strong chance of being kenny - obviously decided to hold off and then bid at a time when h&g have less time, therefore less options and less to bargain with.

As far as he is aware, h&g will be asked to repay lots of monies tomorrow and are far more likely to accept a bid.

Unless tommy has somehow found some money down the back of the couch, he has to either accept a bid or bank on rbs giving him yet more time.

If Hicks & Gillett are opposed to the sale, then I doubt they're related to the bid.

You can never be too sure in football.

I do not believe any credible person would buy LFC before H/G have gone, they would wait until the bank has taken over, to me buying now while H/G are still legal owners makes no sense, if you buy the club now to force through a sale your going to have to pay the money H/G say they are owed £150 million plus what is owed to the bank, if you wait till the club is taken over by the bank, you only have to pay what is owed to the bank
 If there is a bid now I would be very suspicious of the bidders, it could be a case of "out of the frying pan, into the fire"

 I want to know now what it matters a F**k what Hicks and Gillette think they are about to default on the loan.

Imagine the report says the bids are willing to give them back what they put in and they are still saying now, how F***ing greedy are they.

Five Live have already said there was a board meeting today where 2 new bids were discussed, one from America another from Asia, Hicks and Gillette are opposed to the bids, this is where ye come in RBS.

I'm fairly sure two bids haven't been ACCEPTED, because surely only the best and most appropriate bid would be accepted and not two different bids.
