Don't think it'll effect capacity during construction at all mate.

Really, that would be amazing, but cant see how it would work - then again this may be another example why I am not in construction...

Building behind and over the top of the stand to essentially add another tier (or 2, can't remember).

Just two homes left as demolition continues behind Liverpool FC's Main Stand ahead of Anfield expansion Jul 29, 2014 11:03 By Rob Pattinson 0 Comments  Homes being knocked down as part of plans to expand Reds' ground

The last two terraced houses on Lothair Road, Anfield. And then there were two!

Here are the last two homes left standing as demolition work on the road behind Anfield’s Main Stand nears completion as part of a major regeneration scheme.

Almost all of the derelict houses on Lothair Road have now been cleared ahead of the proposed expansion of Liverpool FC’s stadium.

This part of the £260m Anfield Project will create space for the tree-lined 96 Avenue, in memory of the Hillsborough victims – which will link Walton Breck Road with Stanley Park.

With work on Lothair Road nearly completed, the focus will move to knocking down homes on other streets on the Main Stand side, including Alroy Road, Rockfield Road and Anfield Road as part of the masterplan.

The cleared space by the Main Stand will allow Liverpool to increase its capacity and add a large public square in front of a new entrance.

The expansion of the Anfield ground remains subject to full planning permission being approved, with the proposals set to go before city council planners later this year.

If the proposals get the green light, construction work to increase the stadium’s capacity to around 58,800 could be finished in time for the 2016-17 season.

Earlier this month, the club named construction giant Carillion as its “preferred bidder” to undertake the Main Stand expansion works.

For our overseas friends I cant tell you how awful the surrounding area of Anfield is and has been for 40 plus years. The area in general is undergoing a lot of work and its about time too.

Yeah it was a bit eery walking through the back of the main stand when I was there. You go from a beautiful stadium full of life, to a run down, deserted, sh*t hole.

      Nice one mate.
Someone's having a laugh there with the only sign of activity on the site - that JCB frantically scooping up fresh air after they got somebody out on a Sunday morning to make it look like a job in progress.
Fair play tho' they're cracking on with the demolition etc.
