'I won't bite anymore' promises Suarez
Luis Suarez says he has talked to specialists about his behaviour and insists he won't be taking lumps out of anyone else.
''I say to the fans don't worry because I won't be doing that anymore,'' he promised.
He went on '' I spoke to my psychiatrist and he said I had to face it and say sorry, which I did - now I would rather focus on the present, which is Barcelona''.

So, effectively then, that bite cost us £7m :o

According to BBC Sport Barca's vice president Jordi Mestre said on Tuesday the actual amount was significantly less.

"Negotiations started before the World Cup and we worked hard to come to a final figure of £65m. We were originally quoted over €90m (£72m).

"He had much better offers than ours financially but he wanted to come to Barcelona. He made a great effort - financially and personally - to be here."

"Offers than ours" - plural? I'm presuming Real were one of them so I wonder who else came sniffing?

I expect they're talking bullshit tbh. I don't think negotiations would have been completed so quickly had they not paid the buyout clause.

Especially after the Neymar incident. If it's true though, our negotiators really are sh*te.

We have denied Barca's claim they only paid £65 mill. I'm really starting to dislike Barca as a club.

I actually don't care what Barca say and I'm not going to get bent out of shape now about the fee now....because there's precisely diddly squat that I can do about it (edit: I realise that my influence was exactly the same before the transfer as now...but you get my drift).

Two things to my mind are fact: -

      1) Barca got a very good deal in the current market.

      2) We got enough to fund a world class alternative (for I don't think you can replace as such)

Barca, Suarez and the mystery of the £10mill
Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre has claimed they only paid £65m for Luis Suarez.
The exact fee for Suarez has never been made public after the clubs agreed to keep the details of the deal confidential, however Anfield sources have always said that the full release clause of 75m was met.
Speaking as Suarez was finally unveiled as a Barca player Mestre broke rank and insisted Barca had only paid £65m as they had negotiated a discount.
''Suarez' transfer cost us €81m (£65m)'' he said ''it's a pleasure to have him with us''.

They are probably saying that to try and fiddle their accounts somehow due to the amount they've spent this summer.

I dislike Barca, and I cant stand the tought of Luis playing for them. That said, it will be a priviledge to watch that forward line, supplied by Xavi, Iniesta and Co, just for the pleasure of watching football. Mixed feelings :(

Suarez leaving Melwood today (in tears) after visiting the team.

This is what makes him different from Torres, he loves the club still and imo only left for his family's wishes and maybe his football aspirations to an extent, but there will be no bitterness from me regarding him.

He gave everything for this club, the whole time he was here and didn't sulk and bad mouth us after leaving.

He even wrote something along the lines of Good Luck mates before the Spuds match.

I reckon his heart is still with the club mate, he text Rodgers a good luck message before the Southampton game too.

Agreed mate. I just wish he's have given us 1 more year. Unfinished business.

Might have been different if we had won the Title last season. I may have let him go a bit easier.

Gerrard said in his interview, once he'd bitten Chellini, he knew he was gone and would engineer a move.

If Gerrard is still happy to keep company with the lad I think it shows there are no hard feelings and he didn't move lightly.

I'm fairly sure I saw that picture before he'd even got to Melwood this morning so either he was crying on his way in or I've just ruined a lovely story.

      :D

He seems to be in the same jumper his pictured with Stevie in today.

This may not have been today but even if it wasn't still think he loves the club, he didn't have to come back and visit the team but he did.

I wish him all the best at Barca.
