Channel One to close, Challenge to come to Freeview

Sky is closing one pay and one free channel from the portfolio it bought from Virgin TV, because they match channels already provided by Sky.

Bravo and Channel One (which was Virgin 1 and before that FTN) will close.

This means that the Channel One slot on Freeview will be replaced with the quiz show channel Challenge.

From Tue 1 Feb, game show channel Challenge will be available on Freeview channel 46.

The channel will continue to broadcast classic game shows including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Catchphrase, The Crystal Maze and The Krypton Factor.

The ultimate home of game show entertainment, Challenge combines cult shows, world famous quiz formats and innovative new game shows. In addition to its current line-up, the station recently announced that past and future TNA Wrestling programming will be broadcast on the channel in the coming months. TNA's flagship show Impact will air every week, as well as round-up programme Xplosion and huge monthly PPV events such as Lockdown and Bound For Glory.

Both channels were fu**ed off back at the end of December!

Not on Freeview, went this morning HR! So pissed off with this.

Sky are just thugs. Anything decent, buy it and flog it for a huge profit. 24, Lost, and umpteen others. Fuckers

My mum's fuming as well RP, she used to like that channel as well.

I liked Channel One as well, showed a lot of this show franchise I really liked.... can't think of the name though....
