Flanagan didn't look like he missed a trick in 20 months, did he? Great performance tonight.

Great performance from the scouse Cafu, having been out so long and marking Arnautivic out of the game was no small feat as he is quick and a huge unit.
Clearly tired toward the end but that was understandable.

Clyne as RB and Flanno as LB should be tried out soon.

Flanno did a great job given it was his first match after so long on the sidelines. But i think he's at fault for Stoke's goal, Arnautovic was his man.

No Moreno as per usual was out of position which meant Sakho had to go over and cover but couldn't cut out the cross.
Toure was supposed to occupy that space but the old man was too slow to get back.

So a catalogue of errors but initiated by Moreno.

If you look at the replay you will see that Flanno was man-marking Arnautovic but lost him on the way ...

If Flanagan can come through that much football with no injury issues, I think we can say he's over them

      Good performance against Stoke

Mind boggling how he was able to play 105 minutes on his first start after such a long time away. Says so much about the guy. He's got the same sort of playing mentality as Dirk Kuyt. 110% all the time. If every player in this team had that sort of mindset...

I think this is what Jürgen referred to after the Palace? game mate, when heads went down both in the players and the crowd after the late goal.

He was absolutely fu**ed during extra time but no way was he giving up, his team needed him, his manager needed him and the fans needed him.

In Jurgens own words, you're only tired when you decide you're tired  ;)

Boss: Flanagan? Unbelievable... Man of the Match

Jon Flanagan earned Jürgen Klopp's Man of the Match award for his 105-minute contribution in the League Cup semi-final, second leg against Stoke City on Tuesday night.

You would never have guessed that the Liverpool defender had not started a senior game since May 2014 as he offered support and reliability up and down the right side at Anfield.

Marko Arnautovic scored the only goal of the game to make the tie 1-1 on aggregate and force a penalty shootout, which the Reds won 6-5 to secure a place in the final at Wembley.

Asked about Flanagan at his post-match press conference, Klopp said: “My Man of the Match. He was great. 105 minutes after [his last start in] May 2014, it is unbelievable.

“Usually we know it is not the best thing but we had no other chance. We were always in contact with him, always asking. Even when we took him out, he said ‘I could go on’. That was really great.

“You lose the feeling in such a long time. In shorter times [out], you lose the feeling for the game. All the things with the ball, you don’t forget, but then to defend in the right spaces…

“We defend differently than Liverpool defended when he last played. He did really great and he was Man of the Match for me.”

Drop Moreno and play him left back, Moreno is useless.

What's happened? has he had a set back (he did play a lot of minutes in a short space of time)? not even making the bench.

He's not included in the EL squad.
