According to some sites he is set to join Derby County in the championship for the remainder of the season

Liverpool FC are in talks with Championship outfit Derby County over a potential loan deal for Andre Wisdom.Boss Brendan Rodgers is keen for the England Under-21s skipper to go out and gain experience having spent most of this season on the bench.Rams boss Steve McClaren made an approach for Wisdom after centre-back Zak Whitbread suffered a calf strain in their 3-2 win over Watford on Saturday.

It is reported that the loan will help LFC beat a number of Prem. clubs to the signing of Derby midfielder 18 year-old Will Hughes.

His biggest problem when playing at RB is his almost total lack of ability to pass a ball straight over a distance of more than 10 yards.

Zak Whitbread, there's a blast from the past. Really rated him when he was youngster with us.

Anyway, good luck to Andre and this will do us no harm at all if we are interested in their midfield 'wonderkid' Will Hughes.

      Badly needed loan.
He has regressed from the great form he showed last season,
and I think himself and Sterling definitely need loans if they are to progress.

England and Liverpool Captain at youth level, no doubt he has the ability
to become a great Centre Back, but to do so he needs games.

      Good luck Andre.

Confirmed by Derby as a season long loan.
Great move, maybe take Sterling in January too.

I agree mate, seems to have lost all confidence and composure. Was shocking in Pre-Season too, this move is just what he needs to develop and start realising his potential

Am a bit surprised to read that mate, what makes you think he will make it at the very top? I don't personally think he will make the grade at LFC. I'm not sure he is dominant enough in any one area, he not slow but not lightening quick, he's ok in the air but not dominant and I was quite alarmed at the hard time he had against Celtic in pre-season. I can't remember the name of the lad they had upfront but he battered him, no doubt he can improve his strength but there was something about the performance that had me doubting his long era suitability. The one that got away for me was Phil Jones and I don't think Wisdom has anywhere near as much potential.

This loan move will be good for him and it would surprise me if it became a permanent move if he does well there.

@M_Sweeting: Andre Wisdom, as expected, already smashing it at Derby. Man of the match today and will probably displace Buxton for CB soon.

Great to see Wisdom is Andre making an impression....see what I did their?

Great bit of business from LFC sending him on loan, still think he will go on loan again next season but only a short loan. This is because of us buyin Ilori for such a fee, I cant see the staff not wanting to start including Ilori next season.

McClaren hails performance of Liverpool youngster Andre Wisdom

Derby County boss Steve McClaren praised the performance of Andre Wisdom after the Liverpool FC youngster made an accomplished debut in their 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.

The 20-year-old was selected at right-back ahead of Adam Smith following his season-long loan move to Pride Park and was named man of the match.

“I thought Andre was immense for his first game,” McClaren said.

“We knew that with Nicola Zigic in the Birmingham side they would have a physical presence in attack, which is why Andre came into the side.

“He slotted in with no fuss and he looks like he will be a very good player for us.

“He’s got a good pedigree and he wants to be a leader, which is a great attitude to have. Coming here is going to be a big test for him but he’s started well and we hope it continues.”

great to see Wisdom doing well he's got a big future ahead at LFC maybe at right back, maybe at CB who knows. Still think we should loan  him out again next season for a full season but to a premier league side that way he gets to play week in week out in the prem against the best opposition and we can keep tabs, maybe this loan is part of a deal for us to sign that player off them in Jan who we will prob loan back to them for the rest of the season.

Andre Wisdom abandons £100k Porsche in muddy woods after getting lost on way to  OWN stadium[color=rgb(0, 51, 153)
      England]][/color]
England Under-21 captain Andre Wisdom was forced to abandon his £100,000 Porsche after using a satnav to find the way to his own club's own stadium.

Liverpool starlet Wisdom, aged 20, got stuck in a huge mud-filled puddle after driving down a woodland track three miles from the nearest main road.

Wisdom joined Championship side Derby County two weeks ago and was trying to get to their Pride Park ground to play in Saturday's home game with Sheffield Wednesday.

A source told the Mirror: "Andre is new to the area and doesn't know his way around. He is staying in a hotel while he finds somewhere to live.

"He left the hotel and on his way to the ground he popped into a shop to get a drink.

"Because Andre wasn't sure of the way to Pride Park from the shop, he entered the postcode in the Porsche's satnav and it took him all the way down a muddy track.

"The poor lad phoned the club to explain what had happened and managed to get himself to the ground in time to play.

"Andre cleaned himself up and I'm not sure if his team-mates know about this yet - he might have to prepare himself for a bit of mickey taking."

A mountain biker told how he found the defender's Porsche Panamera Turbo marooned in the mud six miles from Pride Park on Saturday morning.

Pete Irons, 41, said: "I didn't really think much of it when I first saw it.

"I thought whoever it was was unlucky to have done that - but I also thought it would be gone by the afternoon.

"But when I came back through the woods a little later with friends it was still there and I went right up to it to have a look to see what had happened.

"I realised it was a really posh Porsche so we were all joking about the poor guy who had managed to get it stuck and how much money it was going to cost them.

"To get to that point he would have to come through an equally muddy section - I have no idea what he was thinking.

"I just can't believe he could have got that far to begin with, then to submerge it in that puddle.

"We are miles from any main road and the track doesn't go anywhere, it's just mind boggling how he ended up there.

"We called the police to let them know it was there.

"They came along and took the registration number of the car which turned out to be Andre Wisdom's.

"We just couldn't believe it. I don't know when it happened but it certainly wasn't there when I was out walking on Friday morning.

"He would have got so muddy trying to escape too - there was no way he could have got out without getting covered."

The Porsche was later towed out of the mud by a Jeep Cherokee and driven away.

Pete said: "I noticed a Jeep dragging it away later but it was too dark to look at who was driving.

"It seemed ok, just a bit muddy.

"A neighbour said she saw a very muddy Porsche driving down the road a little after that, apparently it was emitting a massive cloud of white smoke.

"I think it will definitely need a bit of TLC in a garage."

Wisdom is currently serving a four-match international ban after being sent off for England Under 21s in the draw with Finland.

But getting lost in the Porsche did not stop Wisdom helping Derby win 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

A Derby County Club spokesman said yesterday: "Andre visited a local shop on the way to Saturday's game against Sheffield Wednesday and, being new and unfamiliar to the area, he programmed the stadium's postcode into his Sat Nav.

"The route provided took him down a less than traditional road, where conditions were also poor.

"Ultimately his car got stuck and he, along with the club, made suitable arrangements to ensure he was at Pride Park Stadium on time for the game and his car was recovered on Saturday evening."

Transfer news: Derby to look at possible deals for loan stars
      Last Updated: 01/05/14 9:02am

Derby County are planning to explore the possibility of bringing a collection of loan stars on board permanently.

A successful campaign which has delivered a spot in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs and a shot at a return to the Premier League has been aided by the performances of those drafted in on short-term agreements.

The loan market has been used to the fullest, with the likes of Patrick Bamford, George Thorne and Andre Wisdom having helped to carry Derby up the second tier standings.

Steve McClaren has been suitably impressed by all three of his leading loanees, with the trio useful assets for the present but also hot prospects for the future.

Taking that into account, discussions will be held at the end of the season regarding full-time deals.

The success of those talks will, however, rest in the hands of parent clubs Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool.

First team coach Paul Simpson told the Derby Telegraph: "We know what we want, it is a case of seeing what the parent clubs want to do with their players.

"These are all discussions that we need to have over the coming weeks.

"I think they (the players) have shown they can fit into our group, fit into Derby County.

"As a football club, we have shown we can look after them properly and will try and teach them the way Steve McClaren wants to play."

Wouldn't be surprised if one or both of Wisdom & Kelly are sold this summer.  Neither one really seems like a proper fit for a fullback in BR's system as he prefers players who are good on the ball and like to get forward to support the attack.  Furthermore, neither one really seems like a true CB, although I think Kelly has the height and physique for it.  Both are good utility players, but neither a true specialist in any one role.  I just get the feeling that he doesn't see either of Kelly/Wisdom in his long term plans....

      Derby fan here,

I've seen a lot of wisdom year and would say he's a decent player, not much more than that at the minute and certainly shouldn't be troubling your first 11, so we can keep him?:)

But seriously he's a good championship player who would do better at cb but not worth more than a couple of million I would say

The best loan we have who is streets ahead of Andre is Geogre Thorne of west brom, he's a class above wisdom at the minute, which surprised me considering wisdoms reputation
