I liked what I saw of him a couple of years back when he first broke through, but he just hasn't kicked on unfortunately in the same way that Flanagan did when he got his chance. I felt that this season either him or Kelly would have to step up a bit if they were to be regarded as genuine first team squad options. Maybe this signals that Kelly will be getting first chance when rotation/ injuries permit.

      Best of luck at WBA.

Have to remember Flanno didn't kick on the first time he broke through either under Kenny. Andre still has every chance of making it here, some PL experience will do wonders for him.

When Flanno first broke through he looked a very promising player; think he made his debut against City in a 3-0 win and he had a great game, he had some steady performances after that but then I think he had a couple of dodgy games, along with a complete mare and struggled with a few injuries and then was nowhere to be seen where the first team is concerned for quite a while. I think a lack of options is what led to him being recalled by Rodgers as well but since he came back he has been boss, good old fashioned tackler and is getting better and better. He wasn't ready mentally when he first broke through, the bad performances seemed to really affect his game but now it has made him a better player after at one point, looking like he had no future with us. Hopefully Wisdom will be able to push on and make it with us, he's had some good games but at the same time you could tell he just wasn't ready at the time, hopefully the loan moves will do him good and benefit us in the long run.

the lad had a nightmare in the Derby a couple of years back and he got exported out pretty quickly.Pity the powers that be don't have the same insight into about 10 others in the squad. He is definitely worth a place in the squad as was Kelly as was Agger etc.

If he puts in consisitantly good performances there's no reason for him not to come back into the squad.  The problem with the players you mentioned was their injury record, not their ability.

Has to be given a chance at Liverpool surely?

He can play centre back too - he offers options.

If you think Big Andre is the answer I would suggest you are asking the wrong question.

Thought Wisdom had a very good game! Would love to see him and Flanno fight for that right back spot in the near future.

I think he'll have a good career in the game mate, maybe not with us but he's already holding his own playing regularly in the PL, which isn't bad for a lad just turned 21.

I'm just glad to see Liverpool starting to churn out good youngsters.
Reminds me of United in the 90s/00s. Proper talent brought through.
You keep the best and the rest make a good career in the Premier League.
Signs that Liverpool youth players are starting to edge their way to that.

Absolutely mate.  We can't keep them all but it's nice to be able to cherry pick the best.

I look at Johnson and Manquillio and wonder why Andre isn't at the club?

Jonno isn't wanted long term, isn't rated enough to offer a new contract and Manquillio (prior to this season) had about four games under his belt at the top level.

      Scratching my head.

The decision to nurture Manquillo instead of Wisdom is baffling. Was there really that much of a difference between those 2 when Rodgers decided to bring Manquillo in? We even had Flanno.

Anyway, Manquillo has been playing well, but I feel Wisdom would've been just as good.

Huge difference mate think about it why was Andre sent out on loan. And no a half decent performance against United does not make him a  LFC player.

Each time I saw him play for Derby, he was good. His performances for us in the 1st team was decent too. For me, It was enough to warrant a stay and for Rodgers to nurture him instead of bringing in a player on a 2 year loan :(

This is just nit picking i guess. I just would've prefer Rodgers to have taken a gamble on Wisdom rather than Manquillo. There is nothing better than seeing a youth player rising into prominence and becoming establish CL quality player, nothing at all.
