Damn right it does. I told a mate I was a pretty good sniper on BF:BC2 and he started slating me. I had to explain that nowhere is safe on that game for the reasons BigV highlighted so it's quite hard to snipe.
Also, if an opposing player 'spots' you, you show up on HUD of their entire team, then you're screwed!

Bad Company 2 i still need to get, still on the first one :D But yeah, you'd have to be damn good to call yourself good on that game. I aint good at all, i just run around as a grunt and try and get as many kills that way, don't have enough time or patience to try and perfect anything else with all the destructive chaos :D

Definitely gonna get this one opening day if i can scrounge up the cash. Might sell a few games to fund at least half of the price. Re-sale on videogames sucks :D

I'm gonna buy Bad Company 2 before I go back and I'll definitely buy Battlefield 3 next year.

Since you all know I'm a COD fanatic, the COD and Battlefield franchise are the only two FPSes I'll get.

This looks like a quality game to me and I will be getting it. Looks very real, hope the destructive environment carries on into multiplayer

First up, there are some technical details. Battlefield 3 will run on DICE's internally developed Frostbite 2 engine, the predecessor of which powered the last few Battlefield: Bad Company games. One of the biggest things the original Frostbite engine did for the Bad Company series was give its environments a good level of destructibility, and DICE has amped up that aspect with Frostbite 2 to extend the damage on a building-level scale. So not only will small structures collapse, but entire multistory constructions can and will also topple in Battlefield 3, given the right amount of destructive pressure.

It looks awesome. But I don't think it will really challenge the CoD franchise. CoD is just more mainstream because it has arcade elements with the killstreaks and stuff like that and is more fast paced. Battlefield 3 looks more realistic and serious, and will appeal less to the masses.

Will appeal to me more, I said myself when MW2 came out they had gone too arcade with the online experience and had somewhat spoiled the game from Cod4.

I'm not that impressed with MW3, compared to BF3. Graphically, and from a realism point of view BF3 blows me away. It looks like such an awesome gaming experience.

BF3 is definitely winning so far as far as the impressiveness stakes. May be my big buy of the year i think.

Agreed. I resisted posting when I watched the MW3 trailer last night becasue I'm aware I 'm possibly started to sound like a stuck record but in all honestly, it looks far too 'cartoony' and naff. BF3 almost looks like a film, I can't wait for this!

Oh and looking at that multiplayer clip, it's a shame you're all on bloody Playstations!

Good stuff. I'm not on there much at the minute as I don't have any new games but I'll add you next time I am (or you add me if you're on). I'll definitely be getting BF3 one way or another!

BF2 was great on PC (I prefer keyboard and mouse for FPS anyway) but there's no way I could run this. Has to be Xbox for me.

Aye I'm fortunate I have a decent enough specced computer to run it. I agree with you about FPS on keyboard and mouse, and there's also the added bonus of 64 player battles.

There's quite a few good shooters this year, but BF3 is top of the pile for me, no doubt.

Yeah that's great fun in BC2. Sneaking around inside a house and then glancing out of a window to see the turret of a tank turning towards you, "oh sh*t"
