Signing Balotelli was too much of a risk apparently for 16M yet Wellbeck is going to sign for Arsenal for the same price  :lmao:

I don't know what you are talking about, clearly Welbeck is world class.  :f_whistle:

Some funny things being posted on the Arsenal forum.

      Quote
Honesty, I am almost seeing a plan to rebuild the Invincibles...

      For Bergkamp, see Özil
      For Ljungberg, see Walcott
      For Pires, see Alexis
      For Vieira, see Ramsey

so Welbeck for Henry, giving the similar stature they both had when signed isn't actually all that far fetched. Most of us thought Henry was gonna be **** when we signed him.

      Quote
Whoever said he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Henry, fair comment. Not saying he should, but what was Henry doing before we poached him from Juventus? Yep, playing on the wing and scoring 3 goals in 16 appearances in the process...

      Quote
You have to think it's a good move. I know he's not Falcao, Cavani, Reus, etc. but he's a PL proven striker. He joins our English core and presents plenty of room for improvement. He can really get a lot better. He can hold the ball up too. I like this signing and have really come around to it. With Welbeck leading the line, we have a goal threat. If his finishing improves he'll be right there with sturridge, maybe better.

:lmao: comparing him to Henry or Sturridge

Oh yeah, growing up I have come to the conclusion Arsenal fans are the most deluded out there.

I like Danny Welbeck because I he is a player with work rate. He can hold the ball up well and with a bit of good coaching from Wenger could add a few goals to his game. That said he is infuriating with the ball at this feet - not that he can't control the ball but because he consistently runs into players making it an easy job for opposition defenders. He did that quite a lot during the World Cup. He's not Thierry Henry. He's not Daniel Sturridge. He needs to learn that he can't take on players. That said there is capacity for him to be a worthy player for Arsenal in not too dissimilar way Kuyt was to us.

This. They think they have the best starting XI now that they have got Falcao so they are very deluded.

On topic though, now they say that Welbeck is better than Balotelli.

What is weird is the fact that not too long ago we had an empathy with the Arsenal supporters and treated each other with some respect, having met some over the years I can vouch for the fact.
There has been talk on this very forum of the nature of our own support base changing with old values and traditions disappearing; the same could be the case with their fans becoming cynical and losing some identity, they would just regard LFC as another Man City or the other manc hybrids.
      Times they are a changing.

Arsenal fans lost my neutral respect when they started these petitions to get Suarez for free just because we didn't sell him for 40 million and 1 pound. Arsenal would have forced through a sale if they could have. Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Man City.... etc... can't say any of them are better than the others. Spurs always stealing our targets. Chelsea overjoyed to stop us winning the title even thoug they had no chance themselves, Don't need to even talk about Man U.. Man City winnig the league while we come 2nd whilst they are in trouble for over spending... they got a slap on the wrist but history states they won the league.

Arsenal fans just piss me off so much.

Liverpool players heavily involved in both goals and put them on a plate for Wellbeck, yet they tweet Arsenal 2-0 Switzerland.

      F**k off.

Arsenal's weakness centres around Metersacker, attack down that stretch and teams will take points off Arse.

Dortmund absolutely manhandled them today. I had both the LFC game on and this one (so I could watch Arsenal get run over when my stream froze). It was pretty pathetic from the Arsenal defense. They could not handle Dortmund at all. Aubameyang and Immobile both looked fantastic today. More so Immobile.

They are in a tough group. Obviously Dortmund is no push over and you can't look past Gala or Anderlecht. I am going to even go as far to say that I will be surprised if Arsenal make it out of group stages.

Arsenal will do what they always do, they will qualify for the knock-out round and lose to one of the heavy weights whether it is in round of 16 or QF depending how who they draw.

They are already suffering an injury crisis to their defence.
The season has only started. They might have been better served
spending the Sanchez money on some Centre Backs.

Arsenal are in steady state. They make money, get into the CL so obviously finish top four. They go no further but probably the hierarchy don't care. Why change? It's a business after all

The odd "Marquee" signing to appease the fans, even if it isn't the signing they need.
Lose the odd player because they fail to win the major trophies.
      constantly in "Transition".

Could be right though Alexis goal alone in the UCL qualifier paid for majority of his fee  :D

Maybe, but it looks difficult for them to get out of the group.
