he says he will be back at Anfield sooner rather than later, I just don't see him as a coach maybe I am wrong but he was a force of nature at his peak but he wasn't inspirational in the conventional sense he was by deed not word.
Definitely. If ever there was a man who led by example. Now Carra - there was a man who led by word. But I've never seen Gerrard as a coach and nor do I think we should try to shimmy him into the first team coaching setup as it would stink of cheap sentimental tokenism. Doing so would just be disrespectful to Klopp who in Buvac, Kraweitz and Lindjers, has an absolutely world class coaching team around him.
No disrespect to Rodgers but it became clear last season that Brendan was perhaps slightly overawed by the presence of Gerrard and that Steven was perhaps going over and above his station, particularly when you hear the somewhat shambolic attempts to try and sign Kroos from Bayern Munich and the vanity project that the latter half of last season turned into - the 'Get Gerrard to Wembley' nonsense from us supporters and then there was both player and manager conspiring to try and get him to score on his last match at Anfield which was a shambolic performance against Crystal Palace. It was a really sorry and messy end to such an amazing story that Gerrard's career was. Regrettable.
