      This!

Hopefully they are console screenshots, looks horrendous, especially on the car shots.

I know what you mean but they're definitely a big step up for GTA games, they don't usually look great at all.

Agreed. I think they look great, but I love the GTA games. I might even buy a console just to play GTA V, especially if it is set in San Andreas.

I hope they've gone away from GTA IV couldn't get in to the game at all hated the character, kept going back giving it another try because of my love for SA & VC but never worked for me.

I imagine Res sits laughing his arse off at people buying GTA and Black Ops, shouting

I wasn't being sarcastic. I love GTA and this is a HUGE improvement on the shitty GTA IV.

Haha everything is a rip off of Super Mario and Metroid anyway :P

on topic though I will buy this on PS3, I enjoyed GTA IV to an extent but of course nothing will compare to growing up with the original GTAs... I was 12 when Vice City came out and was already well into the series (since my mate had GTA2 on PSX). I am literally a part of the generation raised on Grand Theft Auto.

I feel I will treat this the same as IV, play the story until I get stuck and then just play it every now and then, drive amazing looking cars around trying not to scratch them, going on giant killing sprees.

San Andreas is a huge plus though - could be the difference as the first two cities especially are engrained in my mind.

GTA's cut scenes always looks the same as the gameplay though don't they? Although for the trailer they obviously used some high end pc version.

Really looks alot better than previous games, but I hope they dont ruin the "fun factor" of it with shiney new gfx. I still say after playing Mafia 2 the next gta has to be bloody good to beat it. Been told that Saints row 3 is better than mafia not played it myself, but that fella sleeps with the fishes now ;)
Still what Ive seen this does look really good.

Really looking forward to this. I'm not the only one who didn't really like GTA IV either. It left no lasting impression that game and I hated the character Niko Bellic (or whatever he was called) and his entourage with his irritating brother and everything. Liberty City was soulless as well. Surprised considering Rockstar's ability to conjure up great characters. I wonder if we'll see any remnants of CJ and his gang in Los Santos.

It will have to go some to beat Red Dead Redemption though. That game was outstanding! Loved John Marsden. Greatest game character of all time!
