Joao Carlos Teixeira (Liverpool > Porto)

Seems that the coaching staff have done a great job in nurturing this young player and what a great attitude he has. He looks well built and commanding. He must be one hell of a player to have been trusted for a place on the bench in an away match and then brought on at a critical time and does the job.

Great awareness he has and knows exactly where to run .

There is no doubt this young lad tex has a football brain beyond his years. which puts him ahead of some regulars in the team.

Hopefully see him get another 15 minutes or so in the FA Cup game at the weekend. Hope he still features regularly in the under-21s, would be sh*t not having him involved in those games as often (selfishly because it'll give me one less quality player to watch ). Always one of my favourite under-21 players to watch. There's some great talent in the youth set up that could possibly follow Teixeira into the first team squad in the future at some point: Jack Dunn, Rossiter, Kent, Trickett-Smith, Lussey, Maguire, McLaughlin, Ward (he's appeared on the bench but would be good to see him play a game at some point) etc...

He is in really good company in the under-21 set up. So proud to have Brendan Rodgers as our manager, especially when it comes to utilising the younger players at the club. It can only make them better as players too. You've been given your chance Teixeira, grab it with both hands!!

Had the biggest smile on my face when I saw. Was a brave move by Hyypia to take him to Brighton with them targeting the play offs. Hope it works for them both.

No doubt Sami will give him his chance and so long as he keeps taking them he'll do well.  Great player, hope he comes back to us with a point to prove.

Joao Carlos Teixeira marked his first start for Brighton and Hove Albion with a goal in a 2-0 victory at Leeds United in the Championship on Tuesday night.
 


The 21-year-old midfielder struck with a well-taken finish after five minutes at Elland Road to put Sami Hyypia's side on their way to three points.
 
Teixeira joined Brighton on loan from Liverpool last week and made his debut as a substitute in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Birmingham

Was a handy finish from what I saw. Tucked it away from a tricky angle after a nice run he made in the box.

Didn't see the lead up, only the last pass to him.

I think he will do well, could see him get a decent amount of goals this season.
