      Very Coutinho like!

Next season, we'll have Teixeira, Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho & Alberto capable of playing #10 and perhaps their best position. As good as I think Teixeira is and Alberto coming along nicely, I think Alberto & Teixeira will be sold.

      Nice.
Would love to see the lad get a loan at a higher level and then given a chance here.

What a goal! Maybe Joao is the reason we let Suso go, for all we know.

Ipswich are my local team and I've supported them and Liverpool ever since I can remember. Went to watch him vs Brighton yesterday and can honestly say he's the best player we've played against all season, should defo think about playing him next year or loaning him to a PL club.

Doubt it to be honest, I expect it will be a while before we see Joao in the team yet. He will probably be loaned out again for the next couple of seasons.

He is 22 though and got a first team appearance last year at Fulham. I think we might see him a bit next season, personally.

Lots of young players get a first team appearance.

I hope you are right though, seems a real talent.

I can't see him staying and becoming a regular. We have Sterling, Coutinho & Lallana all ahead of him for that #10 position, then if we play 3 forwards, I suspect it'll be Origi & Sturridge with either Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic and Ibe fighting for the other spot.

Sadly, I think he'll be loaned out again or sold, same with Alberto (still don't understand the purchase) who looks like a good footballer, but reminds me of Le Tissier in terms of work rate :D

Also, Wilson, Canos, Kent & Ojo looking good too!

      Quote
Speaking to the club’s official website, Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has hailed midfielder Joao Teixeira after the Liverpool loanee’s brace saw his side upset in-form Ipswich Town 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.

Teixeira, 22, had not scored since September going into the match, but his two first-half goals ensured the Seagulls held on for their first home win in the Championship since 4 November, and their third in four games under Houghton.

His first, which put the hosts 2-1 up in the 38th-minute, saw him take on four defenders before cutting in onto his right and scoring from the edge of the box, while his powerful low shot for the second on the stroke of half-time was an effort which goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski could do little about.

It was a showing which left his boss more than impressed, with Hughton declaring on the final whistle: “I thought his performance was excellent.

“We felt if we could get the ball beyond their central midfield players then in Joao we’ve got somebody who’s probably like natural in that position.

“He’s young and he’s playing in a very demanding league, but what he does have is a physicality about him, which I think helps.

“He obviously has a natural ability about him, but he’s young and you have to pick those moments to feed him in and out.

“But I think he showed today what type of quality he’s got.”

Teixeira has recorded four goals in 18 league appearances for Brighton since arriving in August on a season-long loan and, while he has struggled to make his mark at times, there have been clear moments of brilliance.

Hailed as “the new Deco” upon signing for Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2012, the Portugal Under-21 international has made just one outing for his parent club in last season’s 3-2 win at Fulham, but will have the chance to impress on a big stage at the weekend when Arsenal visit the south coast for their fourth-round FA Cup tie against the Seagulls.

Does Teixeira have the potential to make it at Liverpool?

maybe but could he be a better goal scorer than player you mentioned?
so far he has played 18 times as starter and subs, 4 goals and created 36 chances for his team mates. really want him to be given a chance at Liverpool

yeah it looks like this kid has the workrate to match his other qualities. you feel like Brendan could trust this lad as a sub for 20 minutes, whereas for example Suso he didn't. still a lot of work to do but I hope Teixeira has a future with us, age might not be on his side but there is a chance.
