Makes you wonder really as to why Hughton would come out with sh*t like this as he did recently:

“Joao is what he is; He is an offensive player and he is a creative player, but with that comes a downside in that sometimes he can be a little bit loose with the ball, but when he is on his game he is a very good player.

Thought he and Brannagan stood out from the young lads in the charity match. Had that little extra something in their style.

I was very impressed with Brannagan. Can't wait to see him in the first team in a couple of years, if he doesn't get snapped off us.

Me too mate, he's come on immensely this season.  Captaining the u18's to a possible League Title and refusing a recent loan move to help see that happen, as well as stepping up admirably to the u21's.

Back to Tex, in a way it's good to see their fans being disappointed wiht his preformance in this game as it shows he's impressed them previously.  Doing well is our lad, as I think Brendan sees him as a suitable stand in for Cou.

There's no reason as to why Tex couldn't be part of the 25 man squad next season and why Brannagan couldn't follow the season after, hopefully after a year of first team football elsewhere. It's always great to see your club signing big players but I think its just as, if not more, great to see your club bringing through some top talented young lads.

Couldn't agree more about bringing through our own mate, especially when the unexpected ones like Flanno do it.

It says he'll be returning to Liverpool on 2 May so can he play in our last few games then? If we're completely out of the running for the top four it might be a chance for him to show what he can do.

I really like what I'm seeing. His game intelligence is very good, makes really good runs(found so much space in first half), always looking for the ball and offering support, but unfortunately, he's let down by his team mates who just ignore him and pass the ball back or out wide. His closing down is good too.

Lovely drag back skill and pass when he had 2 players tight on him at the end of the half.

Subbed off at 72 mins. Pretty much the same as first half. Though Teixeira made a couple of key passes, he was wasted playing for Brighton, they just don't know how to use him. They should just play a 2nd striker instead.

If he doesn't stay with us, I'd love to see him play in La Liga, I think he's more than capable.
