Oh no, disaster at the start for Luis Leon Sanchez, his chain snapped on the start ramp!  Must have lost 20 odd seconds then.

      Brad sets off!

      Come on Brad!

Cancellara is the last man off, wonder if he's recovered from that crash in the road race?

First check point times @ 7.3km:

Tony Martin goes through first in 8.22.  Wiggo is 5 seconds down on Tony Martin, Cancellara goes through 6 seconds down on Martin.

      Second check point at 18.4km:

Froome has already overtaken Chavenel, his 1.5 minute man, and goes through in the lead at this point.  Taylor Phinney goes past Luis Leon Sanchez who is stuck at the side of the road needing a rear wheel change.  How unlucky has he been?!

Phinney goes through behind Froome's time, 21.5 seconds slower!  He was ahead of Froome at the 7k mark.

Tony Martin goes through 12 seconds ahead of Froome, but only takes 2 seconds more out of Froome than he had at the previous check point.

Bradley goes through 11 seconds up on Martin!

Just Fabian to come now.  Here he comes and he's well down, 30 seconds slower!

Wiggo flew through the second split 11 seconds ahead of Tony Martin! Mammoth effort there!

Next check point is at 29.9 km:

Froome through in 35.25.  Phinney through in 36.13, he's dropping off the pace.

Martin through in 35.06, 19 seconds up on Froome.

Brad goes through in 34.43, 22 seconds ahead of Martin.  Keep going Brad, 14km to go!

For the record, Cancellara goes through 1 minute 20 down.

Blimey, Martin's going to catch Phinney.  Bloody hell, that's not good, that gives him something to chase and go faster.

But Brad can see Martin in the distance!

Wiggins has closed down Martin who started ahead of him - I thought he was on the same straight and the commentators have just confirmed it! He may be smashing everyone here!
