Under the flame rouge.  It's down to Vino and Uran.

      It's Vino's gold!  Uran silver.

Haha, Hugh Porter saying Greipel got fourth, think he forgot about the rest of the front group!

Gutted for Cav, but that was an exciting race!

Gutted for Cancellara as well, looked like he might have done his collar bone, if so he'll be out of Wednesday's TT.

Edit:  That's such a sad image, Fabian being comforted by someone from the Swiss team :(

Team GB have cost Cavendish his gold medal again. Really frustrating.

Great to see Kazakhstan get a gold medal. Disappointed for Cavendish. It's one of those sport stories isn't it - so great yet can't get the big one.

What are the chances for Lizzy Armistead tomorrow?

Gutted for Cav and the British team. They just couldn't close the gap and nobody else wanted to help them. I guess Cav's reputation as a great sprinter cost him in the end.

They were talking up her chances on the Beeb and implying that she is one of the favourites.

      Come on Lizzie!

Harsh mate!  They did what they could but I think we were a victim of our own success more than anything.  If Germany had been prepared to work with us rather than let GB do the work while they sat back and preserved their strength for Greipel's sprint, things may have been different.  None of the other teams needed to help as they all had someone in the lead group.

Actually the World road race Championship is more coveted than the Olympic Road race and he is reigning World Champ.

      He is.

Women's Road Race getting pretty active now.  The Dutch riders have been very aggressive so far launching plenty of attacks.  Emma Pooley looks likes she is loving Box Hill!  Marianne Vos is also looking very good.

I think I may have read the post wrong about the World Championship.  :-[

Anyway, I'm going to be tuning in to the womens road race soon to watch the climax. I hope the British girls are in contention for the medals.

Got this on the tv and the Grand Prix on the computer! Emma Pooley is a fine team player. Let's hope it helps.

They're on the final descent of Box Hill and Emma Pooley and Lizzie Armitstead are both up there, but this one's a total lottery!  Everyone's attacking!

      There's too much on! :D

Nicole Cooke has managed to hang in there.  She got dropped after the first lap, don't know if it was a mechanical problem or she just couldn't stay with the pace.

45k to go and one of the Russians has made a break and no-one's chasing yet.

Ok! Lewis Hamilton has just won the Grand Prix beating the faster Raikonnen! Now how about a second British win in the cycling? PLEASE!

Nice one Lewis!  This is getting interesting.  A group of 4 away (including Vos and Lizzie, Olds (US) and the Russian rider) with a 20 odd second gap and the weather has turned!

Something happened to Olds, leading group down to 3.  Chris Boardman reckons it might have been a puncture.  There have been so many punctures today.
