30 years ago yesterday, I went to watch Liverpool Football Club for the very first time. I stood in the Anfield Road section of the ground and witnessed a team that I fell in love with.
The result ended with a 2 - 0 victory over Manchester United, with Dalglish and Neal (pen) scoring.
20 years ago today, I went to watch Liverpool Football Club.
I stood in the Leppings Lane Terrace, and 96 fellow supporters around me never returned home.
I still recall that day as if it was yesterday.
The sounds, the smell, the thoughts and what I witnessed / went through, don't 'haunt' me, but remind me daily of what really went on that day.
96 lives lost, but NEVER forgotten.
Justice will be fought for those who died, for the families, and for those suffered that terrible day.
I am getting ready to come to the memorial service (as I have done yearly).
I look outside and the weather is bleak, overcast and a spot of rain.
I will guarantee you one thing. Come 3.06pm, the sun will be over Anfield, and those 96 angels will be looking down on us all as we remember them all.
An emotional day for sure, but a very important day for all involved.
God bless you all 96.
God bless all your families.
God bless Liverpool Football Club.
YNWA.
