"I suppose above everything else when you try to assess Kenny's importance you must talk about his attitude to the game. He just wanted to play football. He had tremendous skill and the ability to set the pace of the game for the other players around him. When I had to sell Kevin Keegan to Hamburg – and we didn't have any choice because Kevin wanted to go to Europe – I didn't think it would be possible to replace him. Yet we did it so easily by buying Kenny from Celtic. In many ways he was a better player for Liverpool than Kevin was. Kenny is a model professional and was the best buy we ever made – it's as simple as that."

"Unfortunately for me I never got the chance to play with Kenny Dalglish for Liverpool so when he did play I was sat in the stands watching him. When you are up in the stand you have more of a bird's eye view of what's happening on the pitch and we had a superstar in Kenny Dalglish, without a shadow of a doubt. When Kenny put on that red shirt he was playing for it and the other 10 players in the team. He is the best player I have ever seen at this football club and he was a genius."

Of all the quotes available, and there's many more, in many ways this is my favourite. Met Brian when we did the tour of the ground and he was a genuinely nice man.

if any of our younger supporters ever wondered why we hold kenny in such a high regard here are a few quotes that may explain why.......

Speaking to a fuckwit journalist, who crossed the line,

"We know more about our fans than what yourselves do, so we know how they want to be treated - and they know what we want, they want us to treat them with respect,  and they want us to treat them the way Liverpool fans have always been treated by the club"

"If we've got business to do we'll do it behind closed doors,  I know what's going on, but it doesn't mean I have to tell you "

S*n editor ;  'kenny, can you help heal this rift with Liverpool fans?

kk; put  'we lied' on the front cover of your paper!

      S*n editor; oh, I can't do that

Kk; 'well, I can't help you then'   click

Once When ferguscum was been interviewed by a radio journo, Kenny was passing carrying his daughter,  he said to the reporter, "you'd be better off talking to my baby, she's only six weeks but you'll get more sense from her than him"

           DALGLISH.!!

Kenny Dalglish says he would be honoured to present Luis Suarez with his golden shoe.

Suarez has asked his former Liverpool boss to hand him the award for being Europe’s top scorer last season at his new club Barcelona next Wednesday.

The Uruguay striker, who joined Barca from Liverpool for £75million in July, shares the award with Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo for scoring 31 goals in 33 Premier League games.

However, Dalglish may not be able to fly to Spain to see Suarez, who completes his four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini later this month, because of a prior commitment.

“I’ve been asked to present Luis Suarez with the golden shoe in Barcelona next week,” he said.

“If it is at all possible for me to make it, I would consider it a great honour.

“Luis had a magnificent season for Liverpool last year and contributed so much to the team’s success.

“I know every Liverpool fan would think of it as a great privilege to hand this award to Luis.”

I hope Kenny goes but if not Rush or Fowler I think it shows a bit of class on our part if a striking legend hands over the award. Knowing Kenny he probably has golf day arranged with Hansen. :f_tongueincheek:

I love the fact the little nutter wanted to be presented with the award in front of us, the fans.

      He still cares!

I would have that nutter here in a heartbeat (even if he only plays half the games). Miss Luis.

I know this is a bit random, but I was bored and decided to google our youth. Of all the managers we had since Houllier's departure, Rafa , Hodgson, Dalglish & Rodgers, Dalglish was the only manager to really trust in youth?

Sterling, Flanno, Kelly, Spearing, Wisdom & Robinson all from our youth system, given first team appearances & experience in his 1 and a half year stint :O

Kelly, Spearing and Robinson all first appeared under Rafa's management if I remember rightly?
