Favourite Album Covers

This may be something that is going out of fashion with the amount of music that is downloaded but I still like to buy the actual album, especially for bands or albums I really like.

So just a thread to see what album covers you lot like.


They don't have to be iconic or famous or even interesting or have story behind them, just ones you like for whatever reason.


The one that got me thinking about this, and some may find this strange I'm not sure, is Kasabian's debut. I just have always liked it and still their best album for me.







Another one I've like is Biffy Clyros 'Only Revolutions'





And an all time classic that most will like is The Dark Side Of The Moon.

Excellent thread srslfc some good choices there.  I like this one the cover from U2's Achtung Baby also one of my favourite ever albums. Got the deluxe 20th anniversary edition last year and it came with 16 individual art prints of the separate photos from the album cover.

Excellent, hadn't seen that before.

When I was a kid, I used to be in to Irom Maiden so had several of their albums. I'd always buy them on vinyl though and the reason was because of the artwork. It was all done by a bloke called Derek Riggs. Each album cover would feature 'Eddie the Head' and would be amazingly detailed.

You use them to browse through the inlay that contained loads of images and the glasses made them 3D (obviously I can't show you the effect here!). Examples:

A couple from my punk days and 1 classic.


Early 90's NY Hardcore. One of the biggest influential punk/HC bands. Not widely known outside the US, but one of the top live shows I ever saw.


Classic album, completely changed music and brought back "Music" and helped to destroy that shitty, god awful 80's hair metal.


Every time I hear a song from this album I instantly remember 92-94'.  One of a very small number of albums where every song is good.



Gotta love the Stones'. They put an actual Zipper on the cover.

That is one helluvan album, the zip on the one I had was taken off and used on a pair of ancient Levi's and it saw the jeans out.

What a pleasure to wake up to I'm a big fan of all their albums.

Iron Maiden covers are sick, same as Floyd.
