Good read that, interesting that he things Origi is staying as everything out there has pointed (even his Dad) to him going back to Lille.

His confidence in Moreno coming as well is interesting as that has seemingly gone quiet. Sounds like Pepe might have a shot as well which would be nice.

I've had a hunch for absolutely no reason that Origi wouldn't go back on loan.

With that in mind fully expect him to back on loan.

Lets not worry about Hummels to the mancs. When Klopp was asked about the rumour he said he'd "eat his broom" before Hummels went to united.  ;D

Selfishly want him to stay but maybe it's better he go somewhere he's guaranteed games, especially if Remy is on his way here.

I selfishly want him here too, I'm just so glad we got this signing done away from a biding war situation and quickly if all the early reports were right.
i.e he was signing for us and agreed terms early into his World cup appearances.
If we keep Ibe (instead of loan) and intend to give him games then it will make up for Origi not being here this season(getting to see some new prospect) imo.

Aguero is undergoing contract negotiations. Maybe a cheeky punt to take him back to the club he was a fan of as kid?
Quotes : "I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there.
"I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente." (Very old quotes but still  :f_tongueincheek:)

He'd be a 'marque' signing, and we don't want to pander to the dafter element of the fanbase by signing big money lads willy nilly.
Anyway, it's almost impossible to replace Luis man for man, get a striker of that, or close to that, calibre - sure how would you convince them to come here anyway.
It's better to spend wisely, not pig out on big signings, be more sensible, strengthen the squad and first XI options. Good players, with potential to improve further.
And should we really be selling guys like Borini, who though haven't shown it yet, but definitely have potential?
People should stop moaning. We'll stroll into the top4, and be challenging for the title. No doubt.

My first ever post on a football website (not this one) was to say we should sign Aguero from Independiente and Queresma (whatever happened to him :D )

I remember it well mate, you were a huge advocate of Aguerro back then. Me? I was busy banging the Robert Earnshaw drum in the "who would you sign if we really do have f*ck all money" thread  :lmao:. Great times on the forums they were, and you were bang on the money mate.

Liverpool clinch transfers of Loic Remy and Javier Manquillo.. and will keep on shopping

          Jul 23, 2014 22:30
          By David Maddock

QPR striker and Atletico Madrid defender to be announced in next 24 hours - with Lovren expected to follow, and Vidal and Moreno
Brendan Rodgers has continued his summer spending spree by adding two more stars to his swiftly swelling squad.

But the cash will continue to be splashed with the Reds' boss ready to make at least two, and possibly three more signings, despite already making six captures to become the busiest manager in the window so far.

Loic Remy passed a medical on Wednesday night and has agreed a four-year, £80,000 a week contract.

He will be officially unveiled on Thursday in an £8.5million deal that is something of a coup for the Anfield club, after they triggered his clause with QPR.

That signing will be swiftly followed by an announcement that will see rising Spanish star Javier Manquillo arrive on an initial two-year loan deal from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, although there's an agreement in place to make the move permanent for a fee of around £5m.

The 20-year-old right-back played just six times for Atleti last season in their title winning run, but is highly regarded in Spain, and is seen as part of a new generation that could sweep into the national side following their World Cup disappointment in Brazil this summer.

Rodgers though, will not rest on his laurels, despite a spree that has already gone past £70m and seen Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert arrive from Southampton, exciting Benfica winger Lazar Markovic captured for a £20m fee, and rising German star Emre Can brought in from Bayer Leverkusen for £10m, along with the two latest signings.

The Reds' manager will become the most prolific spender in a single summer in the history of the club when he completes a deal for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren in the next few days - for a fee that will again reach £20m.

And Rodgers will not want to stop there.

He is also after a left-back, and hasn’t given up hope on signing Sevilla youngster Alberto Moreno despite reaching an impasse over the fee.

And the Northern Irishman is looking for a versatile midfielder who can drop into the heart of his side.

He has sounded out Juventus over Chile World Cup star Arturo Vidal, and is also an admirer of Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus, who could be available this summer for around £25m.

Reus has a confirmed release clause though, supposed to be 25-30 million. Whether he'd join us is another question.

Real Madrid is linked with El Shaarawy. He was heavily linked with us last season. From what I've seen he can become a great player with the right coach. We can get him for a low fee, can't we?

Exactly! I brought this up in the Balotelli thread too. If we are looking to sign anyone from Milan, it should be this kid, He has made a successful comeback from his injury. Can play across the front-3 and has blistering pace!

El Shaarawy is class and an ideal BR type player but having been out injured for an entire season I'd like to see him get a number of games under his belt with Milan before I'd risk spending big money on him. He'd have to get rid of that ridiculous mohawk as well.
