Indeed. No sign of players that Rodgers had earmarked as not good enough getting a new lease of live under Klopp.
Strange that. It's almost like the manager wasn't the biggest problem we had.

Looks like Arsenal are coming to the transfer party. 52 million about to be spent by them tomorrow.

Apparently  Skybet cut us to 2/1 to sign Hart after Koemann says  he doesn't want him.

Since City have signed Bravo from Barca, Hart is finished at City. Would I bring him in if I could - yes. Will we - probably not, but means a lot riding on young Karius.

We've already brought in two keepers this window, can't see us bringing in a third. I'm not the biggest fan of Hart either, I would rather give Karius the opportunity to prove his worth than pay over the odds for someone who isn't that much better than Mignolet.

Google James Rodriguez and he is apparently joining Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus.

I'm better he will still be at Madrid by the end of the month.

"Yeah but Klopp doesn't buy proven players/his wages are too high/he's too old etc, etc"

Would of loved to have signed him!
I never said that I believe the story.... I merely said that I hope that three is a air of truth to it... I has been Clubs like Bayern,Chelsea,Utd,City Barca etc that have been linked with these type of player were as we LFC have been linked with players Like Mane, and Wijnaldum... I am not saying that Mane is not good for us (LFC) but what I am saying is that he  is no marquee sign and that the likes of Arsenal,City, Utd, and Chelsea where not really chasing his signature on a contract... That is why I hope that we are trying to sign players like James Rodriguez. It shows ambition

We're not going to sign anyone else, are we?

might as well just accept it.

Usually I hate seeing 'they are an upgrade on what we have so bring them in' because it still doesn't necessarily mean they are good enough for Liverpool. Mark noble is an upgrade on Stewart for example but still wouldn't want the pr**k.

In this case though, I'd take hart immediately. I can't face another season of Mignolet. Simon might be second choice when karius is fit but even so he will still get game time. Get hart now.

Mignolet has tried shouting and roaring with no conviction before, didn't really work, that's about all Hart will bring for 150 grand a week... no thanks.

Touche.  All very drole this morning :)

I'd rate Hart over Mignolet anyway (though would need to trim down imo) ... not sure if Jürgen might also feel he's c-opel a of pounds too heavy...

It's not like he's built like Fatty Foulke...

Foulke is a Sheffield United legend and won one league championship and two FA Cups in his 352 games for the Blades. His heavy drinking contributed to "his ponderous girth" and eventually lead to him dying of liver disease only at 42-years old.

Foulke was a giant among men!

Having introduced the two protagonists: the burly Allan against grizzly Foulke, the scene is set for 29th of October 1898. Liverpool and then League champions Sheffield United were playing at Anfield. Unlike his contemporaries Allan was not afraid of the Sheffield United goalkeeper and when Foulke seized the ball, Allan used all his might to rattle him. It was reported that "Allan charged Foulke in the goalmouth, and the big man, losing his temper, seized him by the leg and turned him upside down." The referee wasn't too keen on Foulke's reaction and awarded Liverpool a penalty, from which Andrew McCowie scored. Liverpool won the game 2-1, with none other than Allan scoring the other goal for Liverpool.

After he retired from football William Foulke gave a different version of this legendary incident when he was interviewed by the London Evening News: "You may have heard that there was a very great rivalry between the old Liverpool centre forward Allan and myself, that prior to one match we breathed fire and slaughter at each other, that at last he made a rush at me as I was saving a shot, and that I dropped the ball, caught him by the middle, turned him clean over in a twinkling, and stood him on his head, giving him such a shock that he never played again.

Well, the story is one which might be described as a "bit of each". In reality, Allan and I were quite good friends off the field... What actually happened on the occasion referred to was that Allan (a big strong chap, mind you) once bore down on me with all his weight when I was saving. I bent forward to protect myself, and Allan, striking my shoulder, flew right over me and fell heavily. He had a shaking up, I admit, but quite the worst thing about the whole business was that the referee gave a penalty against us and it cost Sheffield United the match."

I think Hart is better than Mignolet too mate, but considering that this time last year everyone was convinced Bogdan was better than Mignolet, that's not really saying too much.

Is Hart the best we can get, is maybe a better question.

we don't seem to have much ambition do we. Why didn't we put in a sneaky bid for Neuer they could only say no. I would take Hart over Mignolet in a "hart" beat.

I think his form has dropped off but if he sharpens up (and he should be on a mission to improve himself after all the recent talk) think he can be a better keeper than Mignolet, and has a LOT of prem league experience that say Karius won't yet have, and who is also somewhat unproven.  Could argue he's a better keeper than any we currently have.  Whether he's best we can get, how long is a piece of string...
