That's just ridiculous if that was the case he would be playing for the U21's.

      Why is it ridiculous?

Because if a player is not fully fit you don't risk playing them in a crucial match

1 because they offer nothing and we lose the match
2  they are at risk of getting injured in such a high risk match

In all fairness, Danny is apparently always at risk of getting injured.....

Think he just needs to go back to wearing the basic Black boots, none of this flashy orange sh*t with the name Studge on it!  :D

injured (rested) for Sunday as he's still not 100% fit even though he's been sent to the states to sort it out and when he returned BR said all his injuries worries are hopefully now behind him. maybe we should have been taking him off more when he first returned until he was 100%. Now quoted saying not going to be ready fully till after pre-season, WTF is wrong with him?
highlighted even more now our need to buy a top striker like we should have done as soon as LS signed for BARCA then majority of that cash should have went on a 30mil striker.

Boring about players contract or off the pitch antics, let's help me figure out who should be the strarting xi for Danny's testimonial game ;D

                                        C. Kirkland

              P. Degen     M. Kelly         D. Agger      F. Aurellio

              J. Cole        A. Aquilani      ?               H. Kewell

                                M. Owen        D. Sturridge

        Subs :  A. Carroll, O. Hargreaves, L. King, J. Woodgate, ?

Note : This is just for fun. apologize if people think I'm playing with other's hurts.

You could include Sakho in there as he has missed as many days as Daniel.

anyone got recent update on the injury i'm sure BR will want to play him maybe jab  him up and tell him to get on with it?

we dont want him starting if he's not going to be mobile but i'm pretty certain he will request a pain injection to play as its a semi final.

Heard he is a bit of a soft arse and will not play if in any kind of pain, if this is the case I wouldn't start him even if he wanted injections, he can't pick and choose what games he is willing to put himself out for.

Always confused by this...was Owen Hargreaves ever on trial at our club or a youth teamer?
Am i confusing him with another Hargreaves who never made the grade?

No, never. He went from being born and raised in Canada to Bayern Munich.

why did he go to the states again??? thought his injuries were behind him, we need to get a team bloody Dr back to asses if this lad is going to have to hang his boots up we cant rely on him to be fully fit then there is no point him being our hightest earner. Love the lad and how much he respects the club but we need to get him fit for next season forget this year just get him 100% fit.

He's never fit though, he missed 12 league games last season and has already missed 25 league games this season. I doubt he will leave though, there are plenty other players on the out list before him I presume.

Same issue with Agger and Johnson to be honest, Agger deserved more of a go than the latter though.  When you've got players that, on average, aren't available for 30-40% of your games, you either have stronger depth in their position, something that may not be financially viable for us, or you move them on.

Who's even going to buy him?

As good as he is, that 150k a week long term contract is looking a bit silly.

He didn't really 'cast doubts on his future' though.

Just that we need another striker.

The most telling quote of the interview is the one where he says Liverpool remains a huge attraction for players "however long I'm here or not". Looks to me like the boss knows his neck is on the block, incredible really when you think he almost won us the title last season but there it is.

Agree with this, he has never cast a doubt on Studge, more often than not he bigs the lad up (when perhaps he should not)... To get the best out of him (and Sterling) we need a player who is able to put them away on a regular basis. Im not calling for another Suarez (we can only hope we find one) but for a consistent goal scorer.

Danny's problem has never been scoring, but the way we set out now makes it easy to defend against. If he is playing they just put 2 men on him and push sterling wide - the only player with room is Couthino (and this has no doubt helped him lately). When we had Suarez teams had to concentrate on him - thus Danny, Couthino & Sterling got space and the opportunity to have 1 on 1's with defenders and the keeper.

Get another player up top with him and he will start banging them in, no doubt in my mind.
