It seems that our medical staff did a miracle with Gerrard's groin, there's no reason we can't do the same for Sturridge. We could also do what we did with Coutinho when he first came: let him play for 60 min only. We have more than decent cover for him now.

I would imagine we're years behind you guys mate so you have every right to be proud of the work being done there.  Like you say, if there's to be a breakthrough for him they'll find a way, apart from anything else our owners realise how valuable an asset he is so will do whatever it takes to fix him.

I like that we appear to be planning for the worst though, as although he may regain enough fitness to start training again come September he's still missed the best part of 12 months playing time and I doubt we'll see him at anything like his best until the New Year.  Our season could be over with by then if we're hoping he's back sooner.

Because we have NHS our medical system is built around the need for urgent medical attention and necessary long term treatments for illnesses.  In the USA there is no NHS so there are more private surgeons to choose from which do not have strict budgets so can do whatever makes the most profits, also America has a population of around 8 times more. Countries share medical information and techniques so I very much doubt it is because UK don't have anyone who can do it,  I would imagine there is probably a surgeon in America with more experience of an obscure procedure. Those type of surgeries can be higher risk if there is less medical data. The vast majority of British atheletes get surgery in the UK so I very much doubt we are light years behind and it wouldn't surprise me if an American athelete came to the UK for a different obscure procedure.  The way our medical systems and population is, it's more likely to be a British athelete getting treatment in the USA then the other way around but that doesn't mean we are light years behind.

I know this post has nothing to do with the Sturridge's topic but I prefer my formation because I don't fancy having one of Milner and Hendo as DM. I also prefer us to have width although Coutinho and Firminho are better at AM(no.10). They are still very good as winger I think(I'm guessing for Firminho).

we seem to forget we have a quality striker here he's been quiet, but for me he stays clear of any cup games and Europa games this season. if we get to the KO stages I would have him for the home Europa games but only if we dont have a tough league away game after.

he needs to stay fit when he's back and play as many league games as possible if we can get 25+ league games out of him this season then we have a real fighting chance of 4th

Its been pretty well known that he wont make the start of the season  .October was mentioned anything before that would be classed as a bonus .

Made of glass mate. Massively injury prone.

we won't be rushing him back and giving him too many minutes this time around, so we should see a better taken care of and therefore better player this season. rushing him back and watching him move around like a donkey last season was so, so painful.

keep him well away from cup games and Europa this season concentrate on returning to full fitness and only play him in the league games. If and its a big If when he's back he can do 90 min week in week out till the end of the season being subbed only when tired and not injured then we will have the Sturridge back we all know and love.. which is world class!!!

Back training in the next fortnight apparently, looking to come back in September. Hopefully Benteke hits the ground running so we can ease him back in.

Sounds good to me. I love Sturridge!!! Can't wait to see him racing off for a one on one with the keeper and calmly slotting it in with that majestic left foot. Such a classy player.

Best vision seeing Danny back kicking a ball and doing some sprinting etc, he's gone under the radar but him coming back and being fully fit could just get us top 4.
