Liverpool are absolutely livid with the FA as Jordan Rossiter played 3 full games in 5 days for England U19s - sustaining hamstring injury.

Aidy Boothroyd, you Sir are a F***ing disgrace.

Young players are not being protected by the FA or FIFA.

It's a F***ing disgrace that Boothroyd finds himself in the highly responsible position of U19 manager. The likes of his archaic, negative and deeply damaging/remedial brand of football is a cancer on English football.

      He isn't the messiah!
Yes, it's a damn shame he is injured but playing for England in his age group will serve him well.
He has done great this season in the games he has had but if we are putting all our hopes upon a young scouse lad in the new era then we aren't seeing the full picture.
      He will be fine.
Let's not put too much pressure upon the boy and see him as the next Gerrard.
He is better served having had those games, even though eventually getting injured whilst on England duty, than being on the bench, the occasional EL game or playing reserve games

He's better served getting injured than the manager using him appropriately? I'm glad you're not a manager responsible for Liverpool players!

      Was just thinking the same.

I'd forgot he even had that job until this recent news about Jordan.

Says it all about English football and I'm glad we've went a different route at our club.

Seems to be fit again, was on LFC.TV talking about playing on Thursday.

Good for him. Hope he gets a start, we need to keep playing a few of the younger lads in certain games.

Aidy Boothroyd willing to defend handling of Jordan Rossiter on U19 duty to fuming Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp

Jordan Rossiter sustained a hamstring injury with England Under 19s
Klopp was furious Rossiter played three games across six days
England Under 19 boss Aidy Boothroyd stands by his selections

Aidy Boothroyd stands by his decision to pick Jordan Rossiter for three England Under 19 matches – and would welcome a call from Jürgen Klopp to discuss what happened.

The Liverpool manager was left furious that Under 19 head coach Boothroyd picked the midfielder to play the full 90 minutes in a trio of European Championship qualifying matches during the international break.

The games took place over six days – not five as Klopp indicated on Wednesday – and though the team won the first two, against Macedonia and Finland, they still needed a draw or victory in the final match against Italy to increase their seeding for the tournament.

With Rossiter in the side, they secured a 0-0 draw.

Klopp has demanded the Football Association provide an explanation and Sportsmail understands that Boothroyd would happily speak to the Liverpool boss.

Rossiter, goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, a Newcastle player, and Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter were the only three players selected for the full length of each match so that Boothroyd could maintain the spine of his team in these crucial games.

After the matches, Boothroyd twice spoke to Liverpool’s academy director Alex Inglethorpe about the player and maintains a regular dialogue with all clubs about their players.

Rossiter, 18, came back to his club with a hamstring injury and Klopp said: 'Rossiter is a special story, I would say. I've never heard that a player so young plays three games in five days. That was the problem. That's why he got injured.

'These young players are our future, if we handle them like horses then we get horses. We want them to improve.’

Well let's hear it Aidy... be careful what you wish for!

Talking to Inglethorpe after you've played the lad is a pathetic excuse!

He got injured again after the hamstring injury in October but I'm not sure whether it's his hamstring again or something different.

It's a real shame for him as he would probably have had some minutes over the last month or so, certainly in the Exeter games.

His contract is up at the end of the season so hopefully we see some movement on that front. Out of Teixeira, Sinclair, Rossiter, and Flanagan, Rossiter is the one who I think has the biggest future ahead of him. Hope we get a new contract sorted out for him soon.
