Indication we wont be bolstering the defence this summer and probably mean no space for Ilori.

Don't have a problem keeping Kolo for another season. We need experienced heads, already losing Gerrard, Jones & Johnson.

Our squad is practically an u-23 squad, so we are correct to keep some older heads around the squad.

Kolo won't play as much, but at least you know his attitude is 100% and he will give his all, unlike some.

He's 4th choice and we still have youngsters coming back and coming up through the ranks that can benefit from his experience.

      Not a problem for me.
He won't play often and he can help the younger players.

Is he on the same salary £60k a week?

Bit much for a 34 year old 4th choice CB no?

      I doubt it.
      New contract, new terms.
At his age, I'd guess he's happy to be involved at a top club and not overly bothered about wages.

One wants to play constantly though, I'm guessing that's been key in each of their respective decisions.

nothing but good news for mine, I mean why would we get rid of him? it's Kolo F***ing Toure, he's a winner, he won a big tournament as recently as this year! are we in a position to throw away experience, to throw away winners? sh*t, half the time you're all begging for experience and the other half it seems like you want to field an u21 side?

Why don't we just sign Michael Phelps then? Both as just as good at football.

Sensible decision. Bar the Arsenal game when he was thrown in I don't think he's done too badly really. As 4th choice (maybe even 5th if we actually give Ilori a F***ing chance) it's a good move.

No offence mate, but Im fed up with folk, esp. pundits saying we let Gerrard go, was his decision, he has been a passeneger in most games this season (which says a lot for how sh1te we have been when he is top scorer), the penny dropped he would not play as much footi for LFC as he wanted to, he actually said himself, he could not play to the level he wanted to, and did not want be pushed out when he was playing even worse, he wanted to go out while he was still performing at a decent level.

He is off to enjoy himself in the LA sun and get paid to play footi at a slower pace, I think he will be brilliant over there.

Anyway this is the kolo kolo kolo thread.

Hearing some murmurs that Kolo got his one year extension so that his brother would come to LFC. I'd be amazed if this had any truth in it...

At least Stevie seems to be getting a good send off - they all look langered.

Not sure there's much in the thought that Yaya is 'longing' to play alongside his brother considering he has already done that. There's no chance we'd be willing to pay him close to what he already earns at City.

Besides his knob of an agent already came out and said Yaya will see out his contract.

Hulk Hogan retweets picture of Kolo Toure as Twitter users bombard former WWE star at centre of racial slur storm
Sacked WWE legend Hulk Hogan has been targeted by Twitter users who have appeared to mock him after an audio recording of the wrestler using the N-word was leaked.

And Liverpool FC defender Kolo Toure has played an unlikely role in the affair - with his picture being used by an alleged "supporter" of Hogan, who had his WWE contract terminated over the issue last week.

      https://twitter.com/WarDesperados/status/625511653942108160

Toure was among several footballers, including Danny Welbeck of Arsenal, to have their pictures used by people posing as fans of the wrestler, 61, who has retweeted a number of the messages without knowing who they really are.

Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, had his contract terminated by the company, which said in a statement it was "committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds."

The wrestler, having perhaps his worst week since the release of his 1991 film Suburban Commando, has issued an apology over the recording, stating there was "no excuse" for the "offensive language" he had used.

Not really about Kolo, but a funny story regardless.

Thought this was absolute class by Kolo. Hadn't really thought of him as the "nicest man in football"... but after this video, I'm thinking it may be right!!

Proper nice guy and always smiling!
