As much as I hate to admit it I don't think Pete Dogherty gets as much praise as he should as a musician due to him being a bellend and all

Agree, especially some of his lyrics which I think are very good.

The fact he's a smackhead biff probably doesn't help either.

And I hear they're brilliant live. I missed their concert in Rio a few years ago, still regret that decision.

You lot might not agree but I'll throw Glasvegas in here.

Very under rated especially James Allen's lyrics.

Blur and SO underrated. I would find it insulting to be compared to Oasis on so many occasions as their so different. Blur had a few commercial songs to compete with Oasis in the 90's and make some money, but their best songs are the ones that aren't released. Just as a comparison as to the musical talents, Noel and Liam have done naff all since the breakup and Damon Albarn made The Gorrilaz who are arguably even better than Blur. Pure underrated genius in my eyes.

Definitely think they're underrated - we can all name a couple of tunes off Parklife but the best songs by far are not the singles. This Is A Low, Badhead, Clover Over Dover - really really great tunes (love the backing vocals from Graham Coxon on the latter). Again, their first 'masterpiece' is not Parklife, it is Modern Life Is Rubbish. Still holds up with the very best Blur albums - probably my favourite one. Really cannot wait to see what this new proposed album they're going to make is going to sound like. Under The Westway was very much 'classic' Blur, rather than their experimental 2000s work.

I wouldn't say Oasis are better or worse, they're incomparable. Blur's albums after the Britpop phase are all brilliant, while there is no need to invest in Oasis after 1996 to be brutally honest (with the exception of a handful of tunes - Importance of Being Idle, Gas Panic, Part of the Queue). Oasis best work is Definitely Maybe and The Masterplan (b-sides collection) - much better than What's The Story Morning Glory in my opinion. Every song that Noel Gallagher wrote from 1994 to 1996 is an unbelievable rate of high quality, there wasn't a bad song in there.

And I think Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is excellent. It was the first Oasis related thing worth buying since the 90s, far higher quality than any of the post Britpop albums. This song didn't make it on the album, but it's proof to me that he's far better off on his own.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Alone on the Rope

What would be great is a Noel and Damon collaboration. Add the experimental side of Damon to the melodic tones of Noel and you'd get a great great album. Seeing as Noel scrapped his album with Amorphous Androgynous, he could do better by teaming up with someone he's more familiar with.

      Courteeners.

Johnny Marr is also criminally under rated. His performance at Glasto was brilliant this year.

Ocean Colour Scene, rated in the 90's but still producing decent albums 15 years later. Seen them numerous times live and will be checking there tour this year, class.

Yeah, 'Yesterday, Tomorrow, Today' from The Phonic's 'Performance and Cocktails' album is stil my favourite song of all time and although not their normal style, 'Folding Stars' by Biffy is probably in my top 20.
