Add ManUre to that. The FA will want to make sure that (assuming he's still here), we play them when Luis is suspended still.

Unlucky for them that Irish lad Henry Mickey Ryan is going to run riot.

Its not the FA that decide the fixtures its the Premier League. The FA are the governing body of the national game the EPL are one league in the national game , both are distinctly different organisations.

The point still stands, why the F**k would they want to give Liverpool a hard run in particular? What would that gain them?

Could be anything, backhander, bets, generates a laugh over the table with whiskey nose, F**k it - just reduces our chances in general. I
find it amazing that we always seem to get the short straw especially when directors of the FA are also directors of other club boards with their fingers in multiple pies, something seems askew.

Do you honestly think that the FA are a fair, just, incorruptible set of honorable business men with their sole intentions to preserve the welfare of the modern game and ensure teams/players and other persons involved with the modern day age of football abide by the rules set forth back in 1863.

Wake up. sh*t smells and the FA stink.

Nothing to do with these fixtures, but it's worth noting we'll be in the League Cup from the 2nd round this year. Which will be a midweek fixture probably between our second and third Premier League games.

Norwich would be ideal.  We want the new team to gel before facing any top half teams.

Not really bothered who we get first to be honest. We have to play every team twice, beat them twice and then see where we go from there.

We had a tough start last year, were hopelessly unprepared and never recovered.

Obviously agree somewhat with your sentiment, but surely it would be considered better if we had some of our trickier games when the top four are returning from Kazakhstan etc in the Champions League.

      Yeah agree with JD.

Would be nicer to start with a few of the nicer games, even to just get confidence up before hitting one of the bigger teams around game 4 or 5. In an ideal world like.

Just seen this on twitter a minute ago of a supposed leak by the club itself.

If that's true, could be a potential banana skin, emphasising the importance of a good preseason to get any new players settled.

It's not a leak it'll probably be a test run of the system before getting the actual fixture list in tomorrow.

Every single year, without fail, there's a "fixtures leak" within 24 hours of them being announced. And usually it's complete bullshit.

Yep, they'll have already been done, just seen a tweet from Jimmy Rice who works on the club's website saying the club gets the fixtures tomorrow at around 8.15am ready for publication at 9am.

Last season was pretty horrific as opening fixtures go and I don't want to temp fate by saying surely we can't get any worse than that but whoever we get I just want to start with a win, last time that happened was 08/09 season would you believe.

I understand what you're saying JD but it is what it is. With regards to the Champions League and Europa League sides, they'll have the squads capable of dealing with the extra games, not that it won't affect them because it will.

It looks like we are doing our business early and that is great news for us. While we are gelling so will every other team be, so when we play the bigger sides is of no concern to me to be honest, we'll all be in the same boat.

If anything our lack of European competition will become an advantage over our rivals and that in itself will bring added pressure to Brendan as expectations will rise among our support due to this advantage. Brendan has even said himself he sees it as an advantage so he has indeed invited presuure onto himself and the team before a ball is even kicked.

      Yeah agree with JD.

It's nice that you agree with JD mate but starting off with easier games could just set us up for a bigger fall. We have to be ready from the start of the Season, we shouldn't need to build up to games against the Top Six. We have to be ready to face anyone at anytime.

The trouble with an easy run of games before a tough one is that complacency sets in and then if you get smashed in that game the confidence is all but gone and the recovery period could be quite some time.

I'm not bothered whether we play United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal in our first four games. No more bothered than the supporters of those Clubs would be in all honesty.

If we are not ready by the 17th August then we don't deserve anything. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

From what i've seen so far regarding our recruitment of players then i think Brendan will have us raring to go come August.

Press get them the night before.

Says so on the Premier League website.

Not to mention the fact that somebody from LFC will have seen them a while back just to confirm everything is satisfactory.
