      My honest opinion is that the likes of Chelsea, United, and City will all struggle to come out of the gates firing due to the new managers and changes in the teams.  I think that if Spurs can keep hold of Bale and sign a better CF that they will push for a top 3 place this year.  Arsenal will also do better this season as their team continues to gel.

      Much of our success depends on what we do over the summer.  If we keep Suarez, don't lose any key contributors, and bring in the likes of Papa, Ilori, Toure, Aspas, and Mhkitaryan then I think we will have the quality and depth to push for a place in the top 4.  If we get off to a good start, then I think the confidence that brings will push us on as the season continues.  However, a poor start could see things turn sour as we have been so desperate for a good season in recent years....

      There are different factors added into the mix this coming season , Moyes at old toilet , the special one back at the plastics and Pelligrini at Citeh all 3 are going to have to get to grips with their respective squads , it's not ridiculous to think we have as good a chance  to win the title without splashing out a fortune in the process . Lets say suarez is sold and replaced by 2 CF's each scoring 12-15 goals a piece , Iago will hopefully give us 12 or more , The defence is where we need to bolster up right now and stop the leakage .

      If Suarez stays I don't see why, with a bit of defensive coaching, we can't challenge.

      I really don't.
      Exactly, if Suarez stays we should be challenging for the 4th spot. No backing off from that.

      It all depends on who we sign in the end. If we get our signings right I would say closer to 4th. If we don't get it right then 7th or 8th

      Would love to say 4th but I just think 5th is more likely at the minute.

      Some people (like myself) might change their mind when the transfer window has closed.

      I think 4th should be possible, if we stop losing silly games to lesser teams.  :f_steam:

      I'm going to put my neck on the line and say if we win every game home and away it might just be mathematically possible to finish 1st.

      utd will invest heavily to give Moyes a chance, So will city so will Chelsea and even Arsenal will invest big time this summer. Add to that Spurs if they sell bale for £80mil where does that leave us. 5th is the best we can hope for how sad is that. 2005 and 2007 seem so long ago now.It would seem to me that until we either get top 4 or get a new stadium 5th 6th or 7th may become routine.

      I think this all depends on what will happen over the summer with each team.

      If spurs lose Bale and don't spend (highly unlikely they won't spend), If United crumble under Moyes, If City don't spend anymore and the current team doesn't click under Pellegrini, we might finish 2nd or 3rd behind Chelsea (who I believe will win the title now Mou is back) and Arsenal who apparently are prepared to spend £70mil this summer, we might just make it.

      Now this Suarez sh*t has begun again it's dented my optimism. Rodgers I have full faith in, the money given to him to strengthen I don't think will be enough even if he gets £50mil + for Suarez to spend.

      In my opinion we need to spend that much AND keep Suarez. We need quality players added, not cut.

      I'd like us to sign Erikson, Papadopalopoulus, Murial and 2 wingers as the minimum and who here thinks we can do that?!

      With hand on my heart and i reckon we'll get 4th and be close to 3rd.
      I think that will be an excellent season.

      Its all about starting off well, being dominant at home and not failing at the smaller clubs when we go away.
      Know that's obvious but that's been a problem for many a year.

      Feel we are heading in the right direction and believe Brendon is doing a good job creating a far better squad of players than we have had in a few seasons

      If all the right players come in then i feel pretty damn good about next season.

      We badly need to get off to a good start and if we do and the lads have confidence and belief in themselves there is no reason why we cannot finish the season as champions.Though 3rd and 4th is better than what we have achieved in recent seasons we should aspire to better than that.I so badly want L.F.C. to be the envy of every club in England and Europe once again,

      between 1985 and 2005 I was never disappointed by the club but since 2007 its been a very fragmented relationship between the owners the managers and the supporters. I feel very uncomfortable with owners 6000 miles away that still seem not to get what the club is all about.
      Brendan needs support and lots of it from the board but without major investment how can we possibly think of getting into the top 4 especially as we are likely to take 30 goals out of this season team.

      Here's what i see to date;

      Chelski will be strong, investing a lot with Mourinho back and can see them winning the title.
      Citee will spend big again, can see Aguero having a better season this time around and back to being his prolific self.
      United will be fractured, and are missing a midfield so i expect them to drop to 3rd or 2nd.
      Arsenal are pretty solid, but desperately need a striker, i expect them to be our biggest competition for 4th.
      Spurs will loose Bale, and with that any chances of champions league regardless of replacement, hes saved them embarrassment for the last 2-3 seasons.

      If we sell Suarez, its going to be hard seeing where his goals are going to come from from the Squad;
      Sturridge ~20, Coutinho ~10, Aspas ~10, Gerrard ~10, Borini ~10 ± ~60 goals, add some others from around the park and its not really an improvement on this years 71.

      The Boss has said we need to target 90 goals this time around and unless we can get another +20 goals a year striker, its going to be tough breaking into the top 4.  With that said, there's still a long summer spell to go and i am (probably blindly) optimistic we might actually have a successful summer window for a change.

      It's simple for me. If we tighten up the defence and replace Suarez with a player who can bang more than 20 goals in, I think we'll finish at least 4th.

      If we don't address the defending problem as well as trying to replace Carragher, we'll draw or lose too many games and end up finishing 8th.

      If we do address the issue at the back but don't bring in a striker who will score goals, we'll draw too many games and finish 6th.

      Once Bale leaves Spurs and Martinez messes Everton up we will be at least 5th. Arsenal will be the team we will need to out do to finish 4th.... unless they do really well in the transfer season.

      Cant really argue with this RK and as crazy as it sounds I can see us finishing anywhere from 2nd to about 8th.
