Help for someone who's never bought tickets before
      Jul 09, 2013 09:38:45 am
Hi, So I'm coming to England in September and am hoping to get tickets for the Southampton Home and Sunderland away matches but I've never purchased tickets before so I haven't got a clue how I'd go about it and give myself the best chance of actually getting a ticket. Does anyone have a 'buying tickets for dummies' guide or be able to point me in the right direction to maximize my chances of getting tickets for those games?

      Any help is massively appreciated.

      Cheers.

And I thought you were so clever..

Are you a member? If so:

How to buy match tickets online

If you've never purchased match tickets online before please follows the simple steps below:

Click here and log in by entering your Membership number
      Choose 'Match Tickets'
A list of all matches will appear
Select the games that you wish to purchase tickets for
Choose the stand and the block number where you would like to sit
Choose the number of tickets you would like to purchase and click 'Buy Tickets Now'

If not a member, or any questions click here.

Or you can just chance the touts, which is never recommended.

As for away matches mate, season ticket holders are the ones who might be able to help out. I don't go to many away days.

I'm not a member but if I was to get membership would that give me a much better chance of getting a ticket? I've got my mum telling me to go on one of those Thomas Cook packages but they look absurdly overpriced.

Was thinking the same thing. :P

It would probably give you a better chance but not by much. Is it the Southampton game you have your heard fixed on? If so, how many tickets? I might be able to help you out, but no promises. DM me if you want mate.

Yeah I wanna see us play at Anfield so definitely the Southampton game. I'm trying to get either 1 or 2 tickets depending if my nanna wanted to come along.

A friend of mine from Brazil is also visiting Liverpool for the first time in September and wants to watch the game against Southampton.

From what I've seen on the official website, sales for members has apparently ended.

General sale is "forthcoming". That doesn't help, does it?

Anyone knows when it's gonna be on general sale? My friend isn't a member but he's dying for a ticket.

Will probably be two weeks in advance. Keep an eye for a date as they got quite quickly.

Thought when it said sold out on the members that it meant sold out totally so I'd booked my trip to Liverpool for a different day and wasn't bothering to check for tickets anyway because of it. Gutted. :(

Gonna have a crack at getting to the away Sunderland game though even if I have to sit in with the the other lot.

In the end my friend preferred to get one of those hospitality tickets - more expensive, but guaranteed. Thanks anyway mate.

Been there myself thanks to the help of Cas who luckily met a guy who had a spare for the game. Good luck mate, hope you can make it.
