      How cool is this?

The incredible Lytro camera gets priced and dated in the UK!
Lytro’s quirky-looking light field camera has been available in the States for a while, but has finally made its way to the UK and is set to launch later this month – bringing with it the same shoot-first-refocus-later skills that has made it a photographer’s darling around the world. Is this set to be your next shooter? The Lytro camera is a little different to what we’ve seen the past with other cameras, and that’s not just thanks to its rectangular prism shape. Inside the Lytro you’ll find a light field sensor that captures all rays of light in a scene instead of just an image, which means you can do a few things with the image after you’ve shot it, such as refocus on a different part of a picture after it’s been taken or panning around the perspective. Along with the light field sensor, the Lytro is equipped with an 8x zoom and a f/2 lens, as well as a 1.52-inch touchscreen and a single, simple camera shutter button which lets you focus on taking photos. Simplicity is key, and you won’t find any manual controls unless you enable them on the camera. Once you’ve shot your photos, you can upload them to your computer and straight to Lytro’s website where you’ll have free storage, or you can share them straight to your iOS device over Wi-Fi with the free Lytro Mobile App which will let you refocus, share or export animated GIFs from your iPhone. You can also enhance and refocus them on your computer, as well as apply a series of different “Living Filters” that change the look of your photo in real-time as you refocus or focus shift. If you’re wanting to grab yourself a Lytro camera, you’ll be able to grab one from Dixons Travel, Harrods or online at John Lewis this month, although you might have to dig deep into your pockets: the 8GB Lytro in grey, blue or pink will set you back £399, while the red 16GB Lytro is a cool £469.

Once the price has come down, these will be the ultimate point and click cameras, you can't go wrong!
