I like it Stuey and used to play the game in school which is were my interest comes from but there are so many sports on theses days I find it hard to find time to follow all of the ones I like.

I too was in the school cricket team Si but I have to say it was a poor second to the footy team.

      We are taking a dicking.

As Boycott says, we are in a state of flux. Our best players over the years are deteriorating and rapidly by the looks of it.

I've barely caught any of it this time around with early starts in work, otherwise I think I'd be in this thread venting my displeasure for more vehemently, and far more often.

Having said that Australia shouldn't have batted again. Given us a slim chance of salvaging a draw. Especially if Johnsons radar goes back to its default setting.

Needs testing him anyway. Definitely on PED's

Why is the current structure so segregated? Why and how is it that Ashley Giles coaches the ODI team and Flower the test squad and generally overseeing Giles? Shouldn't a more holistic approach be applied if England want to become the best nation in the world?

This is his default setting, FOAR. Don't let one series out you off. He is quality.

Says the Liverpool fan from Australia ;).

To be honest though, and I'm not the biggest cricket fan anyway, getting excited and motivated for this one has been sort of a cricket overload for me this year. Shine taken off because there has already been one this year. To me that is - I'm not belittling the tournament as a whole.

From what I have seen though Johnson's attempts at looking hard are a bit cringeworthy, especially with that pornstar tash.

Equally as much as Broad then. The baby face cannot be taken seriously.

And I can't be a glory hunter! We had won F**k all from the time I was born until I supported the club (one league cup when I was 3).

Summer's well and truly hit over here so I hope for the poms sake they bought some sunscreen along.

38, 39, 37, 36 and 40 degrees is what's been forecast in Perth for the 5 days at the moment.

It's not like any of our batsmen will be out there long enough to need it though  :-\

Haddin gone for 55. In comes Johnson.

It's game over already, though. At 5/143 England had to pounce. Soft, sh*te bowling cost them.

Aussies playing really well this series, to be fair an Aussie win in the series is probably what the ashes needs

      Pleased for (most) Aussies

I do enjoy the contest of it, I love the tactical battle of cricket.. Doesn't really matter who wins, I just prefer tight interesting games.

I'm grown up enough not to be petty

Whose being petty? England had the chance to take proper control but gave it away.

They bowled too short, their field placements were all over the shop and they let Haddin and Smith settle. The Brisbane and Perth tests were already ours 9 times out of 10 and England got a great start to overturn that. It only took another hour of hard, smart cricket and England are probably on top after the first innings.

Haddin 55 and now Smith has notched up his century and it's game over. Are you denying it or just looking to start a little tussle over what was a very obvious statement?

Anyhow terrific batting by Smith. He's been excellent today. Very happy for him, he's put in a lot of work and now he's got his first home century. Well in young man!

Cracking knock from Smith.. Apparently only averages 18 here in state cricket.

Not really looked in trouble from the parts I've seen.

Pitch looks slow once the ball goes soft.

Not "tussling" over anything.. It's just the way you come across.

I think once again, England will struggle when they come out to bat, seem to throw their wickets away, with too many one day shots, instead of trying to stay at the crease.
