      Warrior sign with Stoke City
      Mar 19, 2014 03:00:55 pm
      Press Release

Warrior has announced that it will become the official kit supplier to Stoke City in a deal which will make the club the second Premier League team to join the brand’s growing roster of clubs.

Effective from June 2014, the deal will see Warrior design the Stoke City home and away kits, along with training wear.

The club known as 'The Potters' was founded in 1863, making them the second oldest professional football club in the world. Throughout the 151 years in the football league, the club has enjoyed the talents of players such as Sir Stanley Matthews and Gordon Banks. More recently the fans witnessed a fantastic FA Cup run in 2011, narrowly losing to Manchester City in the final. The following season Stoke qualified for Europe for the first time since 1972.

City Chief Executive Tony Scholes said:

      Quote
“We are delighted to have strengthened our partnership structure by signing an agreement for Warrior to become our new kit provider. Warrior is an exciting brand to work with and next season we will be one of just two English clubs to wear its products, alongside Liverpool. They have established an outstanding reputation for designing bespoke products that boast the latest technical innovations.”

Richard Wright, General Manager of Warrior Football, said:

      Quote
“Warrior is delighted to be partnering with Stoke City Football Club. They are a team steeped in history; a pillar of English football. Over recent years they’ve been a mainstay in the Premier League since the clubs promotion in 2008, with the notoriously passionate fans always creating an electric atmosphere. We’re looking forward to working very closely with the club and engaging with the fans over the next few months and years.”

Hmmm... look forward to some dodgy kits designs, Stoke.

Also - didn't Stoke recently sign with Adidas? Maybe one or two years back?

Interesting listening to Stoke fans at work.
One one hand, they're dreading the awful away kit designs after seeing the crap we get.
One the other hand, they're quite excited because, just like us, many we're getting tired of seeing lazy ADIDAS designs where several clubs have the same template with different colours.

Loads of English teams seem to be getting Adidas kits.
All kit manufacturers work of similar templates within reason,
but so many of Adidas' latest "lower tier" kits were exactly the same template and colour.
I think Stoke and Swansea had exactly the same keeper kit last season.
Off the rack stuff really for anyone other than the top teams.

How would they feel if the Crest was changed.
      Happened to Liverpool and Sevilla.

      Didn't happen with Shamrock Rovers.

I was explaining to some Stoke fans how Warrior like to add little embellishments here and there as a nod to the history of the team / area.
We're expecting the vertical stripes to be bent into the shape of a pot bank and the number on the back to printed on a vinyl oatcake.

And as a nod to the city's links to the Pottery Industry the stripes will be made up of gazunders piled one on top of each other...

This is interesting and possibly good news for Stoke, not a sh*t kit in sight.

      Odds Ballklubb

In a unique deal, Odds Ballklubb (Odds BK) have become the first team globally to wear Warrior gear from head to toe; with all their players wearing Warrior, from matchday kit, training apparel to boots.

Odd was founded in 1885 as part of a multi-sport club and is the oldest Norwegian team still in existence, with a rich history: a recent relegation was followed by instant promotion; and they currently play in the top tier of Norwegian football, the Tippeligaen. Odd have won the Nowegian Football Club a record 12 times, the most recent in 2000.

Nice to see they've dropped the 80's computer game pattern off the kits.

It's basically these without the clutter and the first Liverpool home kit with a sash.

I think a lot of that early shock factor gear was for brand establishment.
I hope so anyway, their football boots do seem to be developing quite rapidly.

      Of course we will.
Home will be safe the others will be used to "increase brand awareness".
Mind you if one of those is yellow, and doesn't look like a scuba kit, I'm in.

Warrior has managed to lower my expectations so much that I'm happy when their shirts look just normal, it's a bit sad.
