      Hillsborough commander Duckenfield 'was missing'
The police match commander was not in the stadium control box 25 minutes after the disaster halted the game.
Firefighter Lawrence Fletcher stated that when two PC's who were in the box were asked they had no idea where Ch Supt Duckenfield was and could not contact him.
Mr Fletcher said he could see a major medical emergency unfolding on the pitch.

      Chiefs 'fell out' over Hillsborough
An ambulance boss fell out with the chief of police because he ''refused to sing from the same hymn sheet''.
Ex-S. Yorkshire ambulance chief Albert Page agreed he could not work with chief constable Peter Wright.
Police statements blaming ''drunken Liverpool fans.....did not tally'' with reports given by ambulance officials, Mr Page told the Warrington hearings.
Mr Wright had tried to ''safeguard the interests of the force'', Mr Page said.

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-31664843

''Mr Wright had tried to safeguard the interest of the force''

He also endeavoured to vilify every Liverpool supporter at the game that day.
He sought to blame 96 innocents for his incompetence.
He tried to deflect any responsibility the authorities had in ensuring the safety of all in that stadium.
Mr Wright is trying to keep schtum about his paymasters, the government and their cover up of the disaster.

      Boss 'intimidated' Hillsborough PC
A former police constable said he felt intimidated by a senior officer into changing his statement, the inquests have been told.
Adrien Daley told the jury he was ordered to remove two parts of his account, where he wrote he had ''no direction'' during the 1989 tragedy.
He said he was ''unhappy'' with the request made during a meeting with Ch Suptd John Nesbit and that he did not want to make the changes.
Mr Nesbit denies the meeting ever happened.

Ex-chief Inspector Clive Davies recalled a brief given by Chief Supt Terry Wain two days after the disaster, Mr Davis was told by his boss to attend the meeting as it was a good chance to get noticed ''career wise''.
Two of Mr Davies' superiors dispute his account of the meeting, jurors heard.
Mr Davies says he is prepared to face the people in a court of law who label him ''a liar''.

David Duckenfield has told a jury he ''was probably not the best man for the job on the day''.
The inquest also heard that he had ''no recent experience'' of policing at the stadium before the disaster, he added with hindsight it was a ''serious mistake'' to take the match-commander roll.

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-31802716

Very significant that Duckenfield after a 25 year silence, implies blame on whoever gave him a responsibility he felt unqualified to acquit.

I found one bit very strange. Though he knew of the existence of the SY Police major incident plan he didn't know the code word needed to put it into operation?
The most senior man on the ground at probably the biggest event in the city that year with probably only 2 or 3 more senior to him in the entire SY force and he didn't know how to put the major incident plan into operation?

      Duckenfield admits Hillsborough lie
The match commander on the day of the disaster has admitted lying about fans forcing their way through an exit gate to enter the ground.
Families of the 96 gasped as Ch Supt Duckenfield told the inquests: ''it was a grave mistake and I apologise profusely, everybody knew the truth, the fans and police knew the truth that we'd opened the gates''.
Mr Duckenfield said he would regret it ''to his dying day''.

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-31821211

The significance of Duckenfield's evidence today is invaluable.

Absolutely not a surprise but nonetheless still shocking to hear it come from his mouth.

How could any human being sit back for 26 years and watch the pain and anguish there words and false accusations caused but only when in a courtroom admit they lied.

As for the apology well it's almost an extra kick in the gut at this stage

Will is inquest question Norman Bettison?

This is a guy who has skeletons in his closet - would it not be a glaring error in behalf of the court to ignore him during the inquest?

As the article below states Bettison is credited with the public's jaundiced view of the police force at the time he was in office, the establishment considered his conduct worthy of a knighthood of course.
He wasn't directly involved in the cover up but further disclosure can only further tarnish his shitty CV, if that's possible.
