I cant help thinking how the families have coped with this for 26 years. Most people who experience tradegy in their lives find a way of coping and to some extent moving onbut  in this case they have to relive the whole  disaster in minute gory detail day after day for 26 years.
That can't be right its cruel beyond belief and again I just am aghast at the dignity the familes always show.

Margaret Aspinall's nightmare of seeing her son lying on the pitch with a police tunic over his head and people stepping over him when in fact he could very well have still been alive.
A very harrowing account and upsetting to say the least.

Hillsborough inquest jury to start considering verdict in February
The Hillsborough inquest jury are expected to start considering their verdict in February.

The longest running inquest in British legal history is due to finish hearing evidence by Christmas.

Coroner Sir John Goldring today told the jury that the final phase - the medical and pathological evidence for each of the 96 - was likely to have finished by the Christmas break and there was not expected to be more evidence after that.

He said he was due to start his summing up of the case on January 25 and expected it to take about three weeks.

Sir John said: ā€œAfter itā€™s over, you will retire to consider a series of written questions which will be carefully set out for you.ā€

The court will not sit for the week beginning February 15 due to a half term break, meaning that it is likely the jury will go out to consider their decision around February 22.

But the coroner said the dates were not ā€œset in stoneā€.

The estimated three weeks summing up process must itself represent some kind of a milestone in legal procedure.

No idea how long this summary will last but clearly it's a very important time to for all the Hillsborough families and thoughts with all of them.

I read in the echo that the verdict is expected mid February.

I think I read it'll be about a month from starting the summing up.  Having said that there's 96 verdicts to decide on and I'm guessing not many are going to be straight forward.

Not an easy time for the families or the jurors.
